Ikon
f*** everything, I'm going to be gutted when he leaves.
sempuki
One of the most naturally gifted players I have seen for us. Such a waste that it is going to end with him leaving for a crap fee and we are left with the fucking king.
Troll
Usually I'd want a player like him to go abroad, but with Hatem I'd love to see him flourish somewhere like Everton, just to rub it in Pardew's stupid smarmy fucking face.
ED209
To be honest I would like to see him go to Sunderland and excel, I don't like Sunderland but it would piss the King off no end.

Tiresias
Fuck no, pardew won't give a shit which team he goes too, much prefer it to a manager I like at everton, and Pardew just to look worse and worse as ben arfa excels.
Collage
Yes, technically he's one of the most gifted players we've had in many years but when it comes to intelligence and decision making on the pitch he's not top notch. Of course, if he would be he'd play for Barca or Real Madrid rather than Newcastle. Guess what I'm saying is I don't really understand the reactions to all things concerning him, he's no Toon legend. I very much like him, he's an exciting player but personally I can't compare with, say, Nolberto Solano. Felt genuinely sad when he left.
Mole_Toonfan
Because he's one if not our best player and Pardew fucking remains. Not really hard to figure out.
Collage
So it's basically the Pardew nemesis thing then? We've had several better players during Pardew's tenure, mind.
kingxlnc
We had this guy for his peak years. Again the question has to be - what would Robson or Keegan have done? Ben Arfa wasn't as badly behaved as Dyer or Bellamy yet it is more talented than the both of them. Both aforementioned managers would have built their teams around him. Made him feel like the best player in the world. That's all that was required with him, he showed for the first time, in that 2012 5th season end product, but more than that, a willingness to finally knuckle down and make something of himself. Pardew is a charlatan, and probably a worse manager than Souness. Anyone backing this clown over HBA really needs a reality check. That is the real sadness, it is over what could have been and the injustice. He is still only 27 - apart from that one injury he is not a has been or overly knackered like Owen was gettting to be at that age, nor demotivated like Kluivert (who again was one of my favourites on his day). A club that treats loyal staff like Gutierrez in such a shambolic fashion should never be backed - the club has lost its soul and class.
Ronaldo
Again the question has to be - what would Robson or Keegan have done? Ben Arfa wasn't as badly behaved as Dyer or Bellamy yet it is more talented than the both of them. Both aforementioned managers would have built their teams around him. Bellamy and Dyer were consistently better than him (when on the pitch). I don't think Hatem would've got into the Keegan side. He'd take Solano's place in the Bobby side but by no means would the team be more geared to him than Shearer, Bellamy or Robert.

Hanshithispantz
Cabaye, Ba, Collocini, Enrique, Debuchy can compare but there's no doubt in my mind that he would be head and shoulders the best player we've had in a decade had he not been managed by a complete fuckwit. Thing is though, he's had similar problems/shortcomings his whole career. Yes, Pardew is a fuckwit, and yes it's possible that a manager with the right outlook and man-management skills would make him a superstar (he'd be fantastic under Keegan, for example) but it's not an easy task, as proved by several other managers. HBA's consistency levels would undoubtedly be higher under a Keegan or a Robson and Dyer wouldn't have been as consistent (which wasn't exactly one of his strengths) under Pardew. ponsaelius
I dunno about best player as you can argue the likes of Cabaye are more rounded footballers but Ben Arfa's the most naturally talented we've had in the last decade by a mile IMO. The way the club is ran we wont get another player like him falling into our lap any time soon. Terribly frustrating and depressing situation all round. Collage
Ben Arfa wasn't as badly behaved as Dyer or Bellamy yet it is more talented than the both of them. Bellamy was way more effective, for sure and for a period he was probably our most important player. Dyer had similar problems to HBA I guess. But then neither of them has/had the status Ben Arfa seem to have amongst Newcastle supporters, despite doing way more for the team (Bellamy). Dr Venkman
I doubt I'll ever see a better NUFC goal live than his against Bolton. Good night, sweet prince.
ponsaelius
Bellamy and Dyer were cunts and make Ben Arfa look like a saint in comparison, yet they were managed because they were key players. You don't ostracise your most gifted players FFS. Souness and Pardew are peas in a pod.
Guest firetotheworks
Ben Arfa would have started ahead of Gillespie and fought it out with Dyer in those teams imo.

Dyer could play in the centre though and we had Robert and Solano on the wings. Don't think he would start.
Hughesy
I think Hba would have more chance of replacing Gillespie than solano.
