He has been utterly useless for us, granted fate has lent a hand. I'd think we are serious about keeping moussa/wijnaldum if he goes. We need an attacking mid. Maybe rafa fancies Perez there. Even if Gini and Sissoko go, it's probably still Perez's preferred position. Would love to see De Jong stay and prosper, but really wouldn't be surprised if Rafa has looked at it and thought this season we're looking at a system where he potentially won't fit. Having said that, it's probably easier to keep him than it would be to entice a player of similar ability to the Championship. All things considered, I'd stop taking chances and just move him on. Our squad looks good enough to go up but if we get the number of injuries we had last season or the season before then we might not. For that reason I'd get him off the wage bill and replace.
