Tsunami
Think he needs to start at Norwich and Perez to make an impact from the bench. We were very poor in the first half yesterday and unless we take a control of the midfield next week we're unlikely to win. Our link up play was awful until he came on. loki679
Yeah, he should be in the team now I wish there was a way to fit De Jong, Cisse and Mitrovic in the same line-up. Tough without sacrificing all width. Three at the back with Townsend and Sissoko going up and down the wings and covering the FB positions? Mitro Cisse De Jong Townsend Sissoko Saivet Shelvey Colo Lascelles Fistpumps
Figures 1-0 Football
Think he has shown enough in his cameo appearances to play. Thought that he looked very composed after we scored and he dropped deeper, broke up play really well in the middle and played some neat passes. AyeDubbleYoo
I doubt Rafa will change the system as dramatically as that. I would be OK with Perez sitting out a game or two.

Yeah, it was just a response to whether or not we could fit all three in the same team, I wouldn't play that formation

Heron
His introduction massively influenced the game in our favour yesterday. I like De Jong but he's immobile
AyeDubbleYoo
He pops up in all the right places for a bloke who can hardly move mind.
Mole_Toonfan
Didn't think he was actually that good but we've played well the few times he's played so I'd start him Agree, even if individually he doesn't the team as a whole seems to play better which is the important thing. TRC
Shelvey and Saivet in the centre. De Jong as CAM, Townsend and Perez wide. Mitro upfront.
triggs
The times I saw him play I wasn't convinced Saivet was much better than Colback and Anita

nufcjb
I'm unconvinced he should play from the start. He strikes me as a player who would be better coming on as a sub to give us a different dimension when legs begin to tire and whatever imagination we have is exhausted. But willing to give him the chance to start behind Mitro and Cisse against Norwich.
ujpest doza
I'd forgotten all about Saivet!!
AyeDubbleYoo
If De Jong is up to speed now I'd really like to start him somehow, he gives such a different dimension linking the attack and midfield.
Exiled in Texas
It was nice to have someone on the pitch, that actually showed for the ball and didn't seem s*** scared. Unless they were totally unmarked or safe in our own half. None of our players seemed to want the ball. It was pathetic. This is why I hate Colback as a player - he doesn't move into positions to be able to accept a pass and do something with it - he just stands there and if the ball is passed forward to him by the defense, then his first reaction is to immediately play it right back to the same player. Pointless. Compare that with the better teams who receive the ball without standing back-to-goal, and who are working to move into position to receive the pass or to receive the next pass from the first guy. We are so static.
timeEd32
I wish he had gotten more time yesterday. He was solid, even won the ball back a few times which I didn't think was possible without him shattering into a million pieces. Think I agree that he should start ahead of Perez at the moment. TRC
Not sure we can play Wijnaldum and Perez in the same team, we can't afford to carry two players when they go missing. SDJ has to start behind Mitro or Cisse.

toontownman
Real shame as we have seen what Wijnaldum can offer. Has to get his head straight. Be pretty much uber turd for the past couple of months regardless of being at home or away.
