Guest neesy111
I hope he isn't put in that role every game, 1) he doesn't deserve it, 2) he'll be burnt out by February imo.
r0cafella
Thought he was poor tbh We need to get players around him much quicker so he can lay it off much easier. It's a big ask for him to hold off two centre halfs and wait for support.

M1tche
Thought he did really well with hold the ball up and trying to bring others in when he had the support, but was extremely rash when shooting and crossing, Hopefully that was because it was his debut at home against the champions, a goal or 2 could change that. TRon
Totally isolated. The poor bastard didn't stand a chance. Welcome to Pardew's world of one player in the opposition half. Remy and Cisse say hi.
Gallowgate Toon
He'll be good if he gets service and support, I think. Not going to smash any records or anything, but could get 12 goals and have a hand in quite a few others. Play a proper winger every week and we'll see the best of him. Anderson
Arse dropped in the final third a few times. Can't see him turning out to be anything more than Gouffran MKII, albeit he'll have the luxury of playing in his actual position.
Unbelievable
Liked his pace, strength and tenacity. Worked the channels well at times, and was better at holding the ball up than I expected. Missed composure on the few occasions he had fashioned himself a shooting or crossing position. Also was far too isolated. All in all a fairly promising debut. Ronaldo
Either way if he's our first choice striker we're going down.
Minhosa
Either way if he's our first choice striker we're going down. Agree. Standing a guy with dubious composure up top on his own is a recipe for disaster.

Ryan
Showed some brilliant strength and pace but just needed to have a bit of composure in the final third.

Standing a guy with dubious composure up top on his own is a recipe for disaster. It was his first game. Let's not draw definite conlusions quite yet. Deckard 13
A good addition to the squad. Should never be burdened with having to be the main main for a 38 game season.

His record certainly doesn't indicate that he's the next big thing though does it?

Minhosa
Given time think this lad will do well her. I hope so. He's going to need a fuck load more bodies around him than he had today though, thats for sure. Thank god for Pardew's range of expansive football, eh? bowlingcrofty
Think we've found a striker with less composure than Obafemi.
afar
I thought he was pretty good, considering the opposition, Pardew and the fact that he was all alone there most of the game.
alexf
Everything was there apart from the composure and finishing. Hope he gets more support in the future. When he dropped deeper and got involved in the build up he looked really good, which bodes well for if he plays off someone else for example.
Segun Oluwaniyi
Think we've found a striker with less composure than Obafemi. If he creates as many chances for us as Oba did in his first two seasons, it will be a great acquisition for a decent price. Forward players who can cause havoc with pace, power, skill, and aggressiveness are so useful. The key is to have other players who can make up for whatever deficiencies they may have. I think nerves on debut contributed, I don't think he thought when he signed he would be the main man all alone up front against Man City at home first game. He does need a goal early on his NUFC career (like all strikers do of course) to settle himself down a little. His all round game was better thank I expected today.
