http://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/pardew-explains-ferreyra-s-long-wait-for-his-newcastle-debut-1-6876051

“Ferryra has been a bit unfortunate since he arrived, and has had a couple of knocks that have knocked him back,” said Pardew.

“He had a reserve game recently with Perez, and they both did well.

“Perez is probably just in front of him at the moment.

“He needs a bit more football and a few more games, but he’s another footballer who needs to adapt to the Premier league.

“It’s a tough league. When you don’t start well, it’s more difficult for these guys to adjust.

“The only message I’ve seen on the training ground that they are trying their damned hardest to show that with a result.”

If Ferreyra had cost £5m and Riviere on loan, I've no doubt at all that in the exact same circumstances it would be Ferreyra starting and Riviere being played in the reserves.

Really wish we had a manager who told players to 'go out there and show us what you can do' rather than 'you have to adapt to the premier league, because it's tough'

It's just always, always, always negative.

“Perez is probably just in front of him at the moment"

"probably", "just", "at the moment"

So a player who's looked good every time we've seen him and has just scored 4 in 45 mins is "at the moment, probably just" ahead of someone 95+% of our fans couldn't pick out of a fucking police lineup?  :yuno:
