A 6-month deal until January at a team where he would play every week would have suited all parties, we could have seen how he got on before deciding to send him back out in January or use him as part of the first team for the second half of the season. He first started making an impact nearly three and a half years ago... back then you would have thought, by 2018, we'd know what his chances were of making it. Maybe he's gonna be another Vuckic; promising youngster, fucked by injuries, forever knocking around the reserves and first team fringes for the duration of his contract. I'm sure i read he asked to play but said he wanted to be in the first team? nothing wrong with that imo Contrast that with Shelvey who had to convince Rafa to let him work his way back into the first team by playing in the reserves. Serbia play to Mitro's strengths and we saw the best of Aarons when he was free to improvise. Rafa likes to control his players and so players who can follow a game plan and stick to it are more likely to play. If we get taken over we will be more like Liverpool of old.. than an attacking machine that everyone expects. Absolutely neither player is a great fit here, I'm sure when they are sold they'll go on to be pretty successful if they find situations where they can express themselves. All I can recall is he looked up for it/not intimidated and he made a great challenge early on; only remember latter because someone was down/looked ready to be carried off on the other side of the pitch and I thought it was him; in an 'Oh well, he's made a contribution at least' kind of way.
