As someone who missed out on the period, if I could watch or experience one of the sides or seasons from that era it's 1993-94.

Was more fun to experience, a journey no pressure to win, atmosphere fantastic because of that.

Difficult to say which was the best from a purely football point of view. Both quite different but beautiful to watch. The team play of one and the team play as a sum of the individuals in the latter.

Poor 94/95. Some of the performances that season were incredible. And 92/93 for that matter. Some clubs must never see football like was played in those.

Howeh, let's not waste each others time. You know what I'm getting at surely

it's only a waste of time if you choose to ignore the stats, Cole/Yorke was not as prolific as your suggesting. Cole/Big Les... we'll never know

Useless fucker never scored against Sunderland or got an England cap. I look forward to finding out what else he hasn't done.

He's never been compared to a young Jermaine Beckford.

1993/94 was much more fun than the present day, but that's probably because football was more fun in those days.

Personally my all time favourite season was the 92/93 one. The first few home games of that season were just totally off the scale. We had season tickets so didn't have time get there too early to avoid being locked out and I remember we'd park up at the Dental Hospital around 1.45/2pm and as soon as we opened the car doors you could hear the crowd inside SJP already in full voice because the standing areas were already full.

Walking down to the ground and hearing all the singing from inside was class. Loved those days!

Sheringham’s England record is shocking and he kept out the best strikers of that generation in Wright, Ferdinand and Cole. Never understood his selection.

He linked well with Shearer as a number 10, and Wright, Ferdinand & Cole were good centre forwards in a mediocre European league - they weren’t world class talents.

How Sheringham kept Beardsley out of that England side from 95 to 96 is the great mystery, other than Venables loving Spurs players.

Too say the inclusion of sheringham, Anderson and Barmby was biased would be the understatement of the century.

The treatment of Beardsley was a disgrace and a total disregard of his talents (when you also consider his international pedigree) not just by the England manager but the cockney led media as a whole. Only the late Jimmy hill showed any dismay when Beardsley was axed.

Yep - Barmby and Anderson in particular were absolute head-scratchers for me.  Nowhere near that level.

It usually helps when the England manager has the London football press at his Scribes nightclub for free drinkies on regular basis.  Fewer questions get asked - you can even resign over mounting legal issues and they don’t say a peep.

I don't think we'll ever see football like what we did in 93/94.  Care free attacking football and the best partnership we've seen as well at nufc.

Think the predictive text changed anderton to Anderson for both of us

Unbelievable. Was a magical era, was probably the true entertainers. When you also had the underated sellars, lee and Clark all linking up, each player needed one touch. Some people would say not world beaters as individuals but it was world class football chemistry

Wasn’t in Beardsley’s class

Id agree because Beardsley could play with anyone. Sheringham couldn't play with Andy cole, same reason I think Beardsley was a better player than cantona. The best players get the best out of those around them, not make them worse

I bet it was great craic in there though. All cigars and scotch and identity bracelets and drinks all round after a tidy brown envelope deal. Stench of aramis.
