A tale as old as time tbh. New manager comes in and by not having any bias toward the existing squad, is ready to introduce some new faces which looks exciting.

 

But then he inevitably never does it again as he sticks by most of those same players for the rest of his tenure.

Seems bonkers that Kane is that far back but as long as the other forwards are moving into the right spaces, why not? He's a brilliant passer of the ball and it pulls them all over the place.

Gordon as been pretty good. Nice and busy. Struggled against the low block for a period but they all did.

 

Notice hes effectively up front when in possession, Tino is doing the wide part.

I think the issue is clear, he can drop deep when you have 2 other players who will make runs around him. England haven't had that until now.

 

Balance looks decent... against a good side.

Compare this to how Germany have looked and perhaps things arent entirely a lost cause. Still some way to go.
