I dunno why anyone likes him tbh, he misses chance after chance after chance and has done every single time that he's played.

He's 21...club put way too much pressure on him.  Idiots needed to buy someone proven then eased him in.

Created more for himself with his movement than Cisse has done in weeks. If he had started today we probably wouldn't have sat and watched wave after wave of shit Villa possession as we didn't have anyone to hold the ball up.

I don't get all this "he'll tear up the championship" stuff either. If you can't hit the target the result is still no goals.

He should do his learning elsewhere if he stays. He's nowhere near what we need yet.

That doesn't change the fact that he's a striker who misses sitters. 21 or not, you shouldn't be missing the target entirely when you've had a one-on-one and two free headers on goal. There's simply no excuse for that.

The header which he carefully aimed wide...I've seen him do that a few times now. Just no finishing instinct whatsoever.

That miss wasn't too bad - after that bounce, where do you put it?

Certainly not his fault for today.

 He had 3 big chances and didn't even work the 'keeper man. How can you stick up for that?

Lots of bile being aimed at this lad, but Cisse was far worse tbh. Disgraceful performance in the first half. At least Mitrovic offers something on the pitch and we look a bit more cohesive when he's on. He's just not a goal scorer and needs a natural finisher alongside him in a front two IMO.

Having said that, he would score goals in the championship like. Even Shola managed that.

What were the other two - that header that dropped wide?

Many of us worried that his misses during the season were gonna send us down, it's looking that way. Never should've been signed as our leading striker and we should have sold cisse last year. Not signing a proven PL goal scorer, and putting all expectation on a kid new to this league, is one of the many key reasons we're currently going down.

The one-on-one, the header that dropped wide and the header from the Mbemba cross. One of those should at least be hitting the target.

Kevin Nolan finishes that chance he missed when through on goal. Lobs the keeper or scuffs it under him.

You have to be finishing better than Kevin Nolan for the amount we spent.

Nolan was a brilliant finisher to be fair. All I expected Mitrovic to be was to be vaguely adequate in his first season. He hasn't been.

Yeah, Nolan might not have been much of a midfielder, but he was a ruthless finisher with both head and both feet.
