There was always a chance that physical decline could hit Ronaldo really hard. Which would cripple his ego. Probably too early to write him off now, but he looks more rigid than ever.

Benitez a reason for his (relatively) poor form this season as well?

His form was poor in the 2nd half of last season tbh, he's lost a 1/2 of a yard of pace at least.

James is Madrid's most important player, without him there is no link between Modric/Kroos and Ronaldo. On the comparison between Madrid and Barca, the only reason they controlled the Clasico last year for long periods was because Busquets was not fit and they had to play Mascherano in midfield, as soon as he came on Barca dominated and created loads of chances to end the game.

For all the talk of Barca's firepower and it is insane, it's very rare you get on top of their midfield even Bayern didn't really manage it. Mainly because Messi is a midfielder/forward in one and the midfield they do have is very strong defensively even if it isn't as good to watch as the one under Pep.

Didn't realise he was quite as old as he is. Had him down as 28 or 29 but he'll turn 31 in February. He's probably got one more big contract left to sign and it'll be interesting to see what he does with his last few years.

MLS tbh. Where he'll take piss until he's 45.

It was absolutely and utterly unnecessary too. [emoji38] There were a dozen ways he could have made some space for the shot and that's what I liked about it the most.

I love that about Neymar and Brazilians in general, Messi would never go for that solution, even if he too ended up scoring.

The obvious rumour is PSG as Ibrahimovic is out of contract at the end of the season. Could possibly see it I guess. A chance to still be the top dog as he ages and score a shitload for his last couple of years.

He's out of contract in 2018, will Madrid cash in on him before that expires? Does he want to stay? Does he want to see his contract out?  ???

PSG would be the obvious choice. Could see him winding down in the MLS/Sporting Lisbon mid to late 30s.
