The College Dropout
Rafa at Real reminds me a bit of McClaren at NUFC. Just not the right type of personality for it. Overly cautious, too much emphasis on tactics and shape imo for the clubs they are at. Not enough focus on expression and flair.
ponsaelius
Madrid have a better squad and more depth than Barca these days, but they fucked up with the dick measuring galactico type signings. Neymar and Suarez are far better than Bale and James Rodriguez.
ponsaelius
Real have a better squad than us, but Benítez is really helping us out. They have been pretty uninspiring so far this season. I hate him more than all of our managers in recent times. Shut up you tit.

ponsaelius
But they're not anywhere near as good as those 2. If you swap the signings around for both clubs Madrid dominate in Spain for the next 4-5 years. Instead Barca have 3 of the 5 best players in the world (who complement each other exceptionally) whereas Madrid have 1 who's gone past 30. Madrid's midfield is better than Barca's these days. The last Clasico was the first time they absolutely controlled the game for the first time in years. But they lost because of the superior firepower going forward. Village Idiot
I think James Rodríguez is a top top player but he needs to stay uninjured for a long period. IIRC he was also rather injury-ridden at Porto. Ronaldo is a shadow of his former self.
ponsaelius
There was always a chance that physical decline could hit Ronaldo really hard. Which would cripple his ego. Probably too early to write him off now, but he looks more rigid than ever.

I've felt Ronaldo would be number 2 for it this year based on his numbers, but looking at that there really isn't a lot between him and Neymar/Suarez over the calender year. Could absolutely make the case for a Barca top 3 considering the treble win.

Probably too early to write him off now, but he looks more rigid than ever. Didn't realise he was quite as old as he is. Had him down as 28 or 29 but he'll turn 31 in February. He's probably got one more big contract left to sign and it'll be interesting to see what he does with his last few years.

The obvious rumour is PSG as Ibrahimovic is out of contract at the end of the season. Could possibly see it I guess. A chance to still be the top dog as he ages and score a shitload for his last couple of years.

Does he want to see his contract out?

Especially off the back of his job at Napoli where he ultimately alienated all of their best players (Hamsik, Higuain, Insigne) and managed to finish 5th behind a very average Lazio side.
