The thing with a lot of the african players is at a young age they were in orphanages etc and just picked up by those that want to care for them and give them an upbringing so maybe a few of these are actually true, they don't know when they were born, especially if their longest memory is when they were about 3/4. We all know how old we are because we're told from being a baby, happy 1st, 2nd, 3rd birthdays etc.

Some of the poor kids don't have parents or stable homes, until they reach adulthood. A lot of these African countries are another world to what we are brough up on Western society, especially 20/30 years ago

Obviously there will be some that just take advantage of being 21 when playing against the 15yr olds

This, people take western world's good record keeping for granted. It seems so normal that the state would keep good records of all births but that requires a lot of organisation. And then it's no surprise this ambiguity leads people to take advantage as it's easy. A player desperate to succeed and may not actually know precisely how old he is and under the pressure of wanting to make a living out of it, then agents who make a lot of money off it too...

Agreed. It must be horrible not knowing your real age, and it speaks of a hard upbringing.

Any idea of how good a player he is?

all these players we're being linked with, even the potential of signings of these 3 is exiting (Mitrovic, Mbemba & wilnadum) but i still wish we would sign someone with a bit Prem League experience, especially at CB/CH. We desperately need someone that can just slot in to the centre of defence and not take a year to adapt
