Disco
Alarming and embarrassing how unfit absolute swathes of the squad are.
KaKa
Fair play man. Really enjoyed that. We'll get better. Southampton are decent man.
relámpago blanco
We were decent in spells, its fairly promising and there is a decent side in there but Colback needs to be dropped andwe need a winger who has creativity like Aarons. If we replaced Obertan with Aarons and Colback with De Jong and dropped Winjaldum deeper we might be decent.
LiquidAK
Despite my best efforts, it seems I care again. Great match, quite happy with how we played really. Very refreshing. We absolutely NEED a CB with height to partner Mbemba, Colo is done.
cubaricho
Disappointed not to get all three points but probably a fair result overall. Lots of positives to take from the match as well.
Ameritoon
Decent enough, our weaknesses were pretty apparent, defending in the air in particular. No creative spark after their second either, just a lot of passing around before we eventually fucked it up, De Jong probably the wrong sub in that regard. Good game though, and a decent start for McClaren.
chicago_shearer
Marginally more positives than negatives, but that back four is going to get torn to shreds when we play better sides than that team of haircuts.
Mole_Toonfan
Didn't like how we "coincidentally" started sitting deep as soon as Tiote came on.... funny that. Was decent enough before that though.
Superior Acuña
I don't think I have the energy to be so cynical anymore - decent, but reckon we'll struggle with that defence.
Kanji
We lost our grip when Anita went off. Think Tiote was the wrong sub.
James
Tiote clearly wasn't fit. We lost control when Anita came off, fair play to Anita he did much better than anticipated!

timeEd32
Both teams tired at the end. Mane almost the difference. Happy with a point. Lots of promising signs. Might actually want a LB before a CB on that showing.
taxfree
Awful end to what was a promising game. Not using Aarons and/or Ayoze in the end here is criminal. Siem a total and utter passenger in that hoofing stuff. Colback had a great game, so fair play to him.
Carlito
Unfortunate to not come out of it with a win but it was a fair result. Really impressed with Mbemba, and Mitrovic looks like he could be a real problem for defenders. Good to have a striker who's not afraid to run at them. Zero
Thats a good match, satisfied for the draw because we actually played football. That said, our team seems broken once Tiote replaced Anita. Fuck it.
Geordie_once_removed
Biggest lesson from that game was that both Tiote and Colo aren't up to it anymore. Overall broadly positive.
ilikenewcastle
A lot of positives, but we'll achieve nothing with that defence. Even our best defender didn't cover himself in glory today.
Kanji
Gini should have dropped back. Aarons or Perez brought on to energize the attack.

Dokko
56% possession against a very good passing side who've been settled for over a year is very encouraging. Weak defence the let down and its going to be a long long season if we don't get another CB and a LB. Mind, would have snapped your hands off for a desmond before the game. Norseman
A point is more than I expected from today after the shambolic pre season we've had. Positive start to the season.
sempuki
Clearly need to work on the defence. Probably a decent point overall.

Dave
Awful end to what was a promising game. Not using Aarons and/or Ayoze in the end here is criminal. Siem a total and utter passenger in that hoofing stuff. Obertan had a great game, so fair play to him. I thought he was typically pitiful aside from that admittedly brilliant cross.
