He'll get another Premier League job and the narrative will be that WBA was a blot on his CV.

As predictable as him going on huge losing streaks.

If I remember correctly, when Rafa came with 10 games to go in 2016, it was said that never had a manager change so late in the season saved a club in the PL.  Still think it would be a correct decision for West Brom just like it was for us in 2016.

It's a tough one for pundits as they:

- can't blame PFM Pards.

- can't blame PFM Tone.

- can blame vile Chinese owners who are ruining game. Unfortunately said owners spent £45m on predominately British players absolving them of blame.

The fact he’s regarded as a good manager by many in the media tells me the vast majority do not see any games and only highlights and that they also have ready made excuses to protect one of their own. Pardew is English, worked in the media and came from non league or lower leagues. He’s a fraud though and so are most of the pundits that say he’s a good manager, hard done by or will turn it around. I don’t think in any other country or league such awfulness would a) be tolerated and b) not brought to task. Honest.y I wouldn’t even wish him on the mackems. He is so bad, it’s actually scary that he keeps getting employed and is regarding as a good English manager. Ironically people like McClaren who have won far more and achieved far more are often lampooned or laughed at or considered a bit rubbish. He is a shit manager and was shit for us, but he pisses all over Pardew. Sums our game up and the management situation though.

He's just a popular man with the right friends and connections. There was a segment on him on sunday supplement and the first thing Shaun Custis said was something like "it's difficult, we were just talking about him and we all like him, but it just hasn't worked out for him".

As for Tim Sherwood, if Pardew was foreign he would be frothing at the amount of chances he's been given to fail over young British managers.

There was something similar a few years back about Steve Bruce and they essentially said he's a really nice guy at press conferences so they go easy on him. Yeah, nice one.

Think so, just they are far less candid about doing so and less of an old boys club mentality. Here it's just tedious. You get all the former players of certain clubs talking on matters and getting asked questions on those clubs that are at the forefront of the shows, but rarely anyone will say anything other than bland platitudes as they're afraid of pissing someone off or goes against party line.

Has taken years for any of the former Arsenal guys to come out of their shell on Wenger.

English football media seem more interested in generating interest in controversy though. They'd rather gush and speculate over the taxi gate stuff, rather than come out an can Pardew's approach tactically in games. Doubt half the dinosaurs journos have much of an idea of what's going on anyway.

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11698/11269472/chris-brunt-critical-of-alan-pardews-tactics-in-west-broms-defeat-to-huddersfield

Chris Brunt criticised the tactics of West Brom manager Alan Pardew in a heated exchange in the dressing room after their home defeat to Huddersfield on Saturday, Sky Sports News understands.

Brunt disagreed with the decision to stick with a 4-4-2 formation, when up against Huddersfield's five-man midfield.

The Northern Ireland international also had harsh words for some of his teammates, who he accused of a lack of effort and desire.

The leak will add to the pressure on Pardew, who we understand will be in charge for Saturday's game at Watford.

But the team performance in that game could be crucial in deciding whether he remains as manager for the rest of the season.

Albion have won just once in 14 Premier League games since Pardew took over in November, and they remain seven points adrift of safety at the bottom of the table.

Brunt is Albion's second longest-serving player after James Morrison, having spent more than 10 years at The Hawthorns.
