triggs
Isn't Townsend's heat map like that because he moved to the right near the end?
TRon
Massive issue if Townsend refuses to go wide left. What makes you think he refused to go wide left? Maybe he was just following instructions.
Greg
More than likely the team just so used to playing everything down the right because we've not had a proper left sided player on the left all season and Dummett is shite at going forward. This is something that will probably take time to rectify, not sure we have that time like but it needs to be fixed.
LionOfGosforth
http://i3.chroniclelive.co.uk/incoming/article10836450.ece/ALTERNATES/s615b/Newcastle-United-heat-map-from-Wyscout.jpg the heat map from last side. The left hand side man, Must be canny tough for opposing managers to work out how to attack us. Fuck me man, the incompetence in recruitment and tactics by all involved is shameful. Maybe he was just following instructions. 'Refused' might have been the wrong word, I just mean his instincts aren't to stick out wide and stretch the game. At a few points Janmaat, Townsend and Sissoko were all playing on the right at the same time.

But tbh it looked like nobody had a clue what the team shape was supposed to be.
DJ_NUFC
I've calmed down a bit. I didn't expect us to win tonight but it was the manner of the defeat which stings. We're in a relegation dogfight and we have a manager who chooses an experimental total lightweight forward line instead of a system that we know causes teams problems (which really was our only shot tonight) He could have left Perez or Wijnaldum (or both) on the bench tonight and been brave, but he's shown himself to be a total coward when it comes to making those difficult decisions. Agreed. Was baffled as to why he had Perez up on his own when we've just signed players like Townsend, and will no doubt be looking to get crosses in from out wide. Mitro should have started in my opinion, or at least give Doumbia a try. One of the frustrating things about this club in the last 10 years is that we've backed the wrong managers with so much money and time. Had Hughton or Keegan have been given 50 million in one window we'd probably have been much better off. Either of those two in the dugout now and we'd be a solid top ten or mid-table side by now. With HBA tearing everyone a new one.

triggs
Dummett is so ridiculously deep in that heat map He's never a fullback. Actually now that I think of it he would've been on the field while Everton were dominating the ball so maybe it wasn't his fault at times
Ikon
Not sure why i went online to see the result. Waste of life....Hope you're all good despite our club being shit, as usual..
hakka
http://i3.chroniclelive.co.uk/incoming/article10836450.ece/ALTERNATES/s615b/Newcastle-United-heat-map-from-Wyscout.jpg the heat map from last side. The left hand side man, Says it all. So fucking lob sided. Just stick to defending our right flank and countering down it and you will be fine. Too congested in the middle up front, not enough players coming deep to make short options. Also aptly picks up Wijnaldum hiding in that game. Guest
How the hell is that Chris Waugh working for these now? I remember when I used to use NewsNow he used to write for some site and thought he wrote some drivel and that was within the last year.
