They could end up with Pardew :sweetjesus:

I so want this to happen and for him to finally take them down, two birds, one stone.

The problem with that is that Pardew always has a year or so period where he looks like a world beater, that'll do the trick to keep them up no doubt. What we need them to do is employ another Lawrie McMenemy type manager one that'll rip them completely apart to thepoint where they get relegated to the third tier like that time.

If they're saying it was Rafa that took us down then it wasn't McMenemy that took them down it was Stokoe

They call us deluded and hound managers out but my god this dick on BBC Newcastle saying he's s*** and a failure. 4 games and hindered by Short not spending money

This seems to be the line they go with, a lot of them blaming Short, which tbh is fair enough, but they are blaming him for the wrong reasons, he has put his hand in his pocket, they have spent money, they've spent a lot more than a lot of the relegation rivals they'll have this season. Where he is culpable though is by employing the wrong people over and over, he's obviously got very little clue about the game and whomever he's relying upon to give him advice hasn't got a clue. The amount of money they've spent on absolute trash is crazy and it's nearly always short termism, way too heavily relied on the loan system over the years, that's why they've never been able to build a squad.

Theyve hounded more managers out than I've had hot dinners but for some reason they always forget this and claim we do it. Thick as fuck.

Another thread on there about how we've spent 55million but once again totally ignoring the money we got in and how we ended the window 30 million in profit. ;D

Ahh yes, did you see the rest? apparently we were out of the relegation zone with 12 games to go when Rafa took over

They have to make up blatant lies to makes themselves feel better, we were 19th when he took over with 10 games to go. Utter bellends. But yet when Stokoe took over in 87 and he took them to the third division and had 8 games to save them it was all 'mackemenemys' fault

Their squad has been filled with utter shite for years now and the only thing that has kept them up was the regular points donation from us.  They just haven't been able to invest enough to bring in quality players due to their huge annual losses.  IIRC even with the new TV deal they're only just breaking even which is a dire situation when the likes of Palace and West Brom now have the cash to go out and buy big.

Chickens coming home to roost this season I think unless Short puts his hands deep in his pockets in January.

Even by their standards the current levels of macktracking are quite extraordinary.

After we "won" relegation many of them said that our squad wasn't cut out for a very physical 46 games season in what is a really difficult league to get out of. Oh.... and of course our manager had no Championship experience.

Now it's a shite league and because we have spent 55 million on new players we should be expected to piss it, but it doesn't matter anyway because it's only the Championship.

Just had a quick nose on RTG

The mere fact we are doing ok is killing them, the threads about us and how they arent bothered about our wee league seems ironic when clearly they are rattled as fuck.they are desperate for Rafa to fail as its all his fault anyway we went down.

They are seriously nuts on there, Moyes out, Short out etc etc what a fucking mess they are in.

The only thing they are clinging on to is their big league status and its better to be getting humped every week as its the Prem.....well i hope they enjoy it while it lasts. O0

Going to be interesting to see how they do against QPR in the Cup

Aye, saw some comments last night, ranging from 'found their level' to 'they will walk it then come up with a bloated championship squad'.

They also seem to think we are sh*tting ourselves that once we walk this league, Rafa will be poached for another job next summer.

I'd totally forgot that they play QPR down there next week. That will be interesting - but if/when they get beat, no doubt they'll be 'concentrating on the leygue'.

Defoe just needs a dodgy run of form and they're in big trouble. The lad is almost 34, strikers can decline pretty rapidly at that age...

Or to fall out with Moyes and not be interested any more

He was really pretty poor against Everton. They've been exceptionally fortunate with his fitness and his age is something that has got to become a factor soon, Spuds thought he was past it 3 or so years ago. Honestly the most baffling thing in the transfer window for them was letting two strikers (I use that term in the very loosest sense but both Graham and Fletcher had scored PL goals in the past) leave and not replacing them when their sole options were a 34 year old and a young kid who may become great but is a long way off that day.

Kone has signed a new deal. Is he even that good?

It matters little once he made it clear that he did not want to be at the club and did everything he could to get away.

His agent will have exploited their weakness and he will now be just another typical Sunderland player on wages far higher than his true worth.

He looked poor against Everton and if that is the case he'll stay on his new deal whereas if he is any good they'll struggle to hold on to him new contract or not.
