The terms he could negotiate on a free would certainly soften the blow of relegation for him They must have been desperate to include such a clause. One of their players who is out on loan in Turkey is already on record as saying it will be better for his chances of a permanent deal if Sunderland are relegated. They'll need 4 wins minimum, not impossible but still only 34pts. A couple of weeks ago I'd have said that might do it, but it looks like it will need to be higher. It's either them or Swansea really. West Ham, Bournemouth, Swansea at home with Hull away. Reckon they'll win them and draw against Boro & Watford away. That would mean they could go as long as game 33 (15.4.17) for another win and still be in with a shout.
