Figures 1-0 Football
Why the hell would they sell him for less than £10m? Absolutely desperate for money, otherwise they cant strengthen any other areas themselves. Is anyone realistically going to come in with a bid in excess of £10m? Not a chance imo. Who needs a goalkeeper that badly that they'll panic and pay over the odds for him? If an offer comes in of £8m, would they take it? - 100% think they would. Dave
So desperate for money they'd increase their chances of relegation from the Premier League for £8m? Sure.
TRon
That djilobodji looks awful from those highlights. He looked like he wanted to be there about as much as Moyes does.
Figures 1-0 Football
So desperate for money they'd increase their chances of relegation from the Premier League for £8m? Sure. Would selling Pickford for £8m increase their chances of relegation if they bought in two or three players for areas they are incredibly short for talent? Lets not forget they bought Kone and Kirchoff last January for very low fees that ultimately gave them the best chance of staying up. £8m could do that. Mannone (although rusty yesterday) is more than capable in goal whereas they have many areas on the pitch that they need to improve significantly. Dave
Just don't think it makes any sense at all. Never mind.
Dokko
Think they'd take £10m upfront, with addons and maybe a loan (not sure if they've reached their limit or not) or something thrown in the other way, especially if he's about to miss the best part of 3 months. Its about resource management if Moyes is to be believed (no money), 2-3 outfield signings could spark the reaction to getting them out of trouble, again. Don't forget they are a club that is very short-sighted and its all about staying in the division, whatever the cost (usually morals, decency and integrity)

cp40
On what planet is Pickford worth £30m? Planet 'where they said we would never get that fee for Sissoko- and watched as we did'. Now any safc players who has half a dozen decent games, 30m is the default starting point. now apply this thinking to everything.......Sunderland,
Wallsendmag
Just seen on twitter that all kids tickets are £1 for their match tomorrow. Pretty desperate stuff for what is probably their most attractive fixture of the season.......Liverpool, on a Bank Holiday, not on the telly. These are screwed if they go down because TV revenue is basically their only decent source of revenue.

xLiaaamx
When you already make next to nothing on matchday and you lose money every year, £1 tickets aren't great.
Wallsendmag
I still don't see why low ticket prices are a bad thing like If they get relegated and the TV money stops, meaning gate receipts take over as their most important revenue stream they'll be well and truely knackered. Guest Open_C
Playing devil's advocate only here: if folk aren't coming anyway, you might as well try to get a fuller stadium and a bit of atmosphere and try to get people back at full price, like. I understand, of course, the arguments against (primarily: it's a shame for those that have paid full price or have season tickets), but if you're not filling your stadium I can see why it's considered. Partially agree with that but surely, with Liverpool being the opposition a fair few of those paying £1 for their tickets tomorrow would have paid the £12 or whatever it would normally be for a ticket so it's probably cost them money and for a club in excess of £150m in debt I would have thought every £1 would be vital. They get decent numbers through the turnstiles but their gate receipts are tiny which is one of the reasons they are in financial trouble. Actually I've just typed that all out and realised I couldn't care less. Hopefully next season they let everyone in for free and go bankrupt.
Guest Open_C
Agree with you both CP and wallsendmag; just saying that I can see why they're doing it - because nee fucker wants to sit in a half empty stadium.
Teasy
I don't think selling tickets for £1 is a bad thing to do necessarily (though as is pointed out above plenty buying them may otherwise have paid full price). But the fact they have to do that shows how fucked they'll be financially if they lose the Premier League TV money.
shintonsghost
I agree fuck them.let them all in for a quid, go bust and we never have to listen to the manky cunts ever again. Job done
Mattoon
Ticket prices will mean shit when they get relegated anyway, they're up to their necks in debt and with no saleable assets, no one is going to want to buy a club drowning in debt with no assets. Relegation surely must mean administration for them and the beginning of the end. We may have "won relegation" but at least we didn't "win financial meltdown".
