Kane's done really well this season, and he's got the whole goalscoring, white, Englishman thing going for him too () but Kante deserves it more IMO.

Can't see a betting market for it yet though.

Kante's a best price of 1/3.

"We have to be positive, the players were phenomenal but Pogba was by far the best player on the pitch," Mourinho said after the game.

Nope.

Don't you think? He's carried Man United this season and there's a history of the award going to strikers at the "big" clubs.

I don't think he should get it, just saying I think he will.

He's carried them to 6th place like. No comparison between that and being a key member of two Premier League winning teams in a row

I don't disagree with that at all, but I'm not the person voting.

De Gea should save that. Wasn't set and ready as he wasn't expecting him to shoot.

What rubbish is this?

He was moving his feet across the goal in the direction of play but Kante quickly went and hit it towards opposite way - it was simply too late to move your feet back the other way.

It was a fantastic strike imo, couldn't have placed it better.

It's not rubbish at all, he was moving his feet across goal because he tried to read Kante and thought he would continue the play and pass in that direction, early shot caught him out and therefore he hadn't set a base and wasn't able to dive until it was too late. Goalkeepers constantly have to re-set their base in preparation for action, he was caught out (as many keepers would be but De Gea is one of the best so held to very high standards).

If he anticipates the shot he saves it (as he probably would have done had it been any other Chelsea attacking player on the ball other than Kante in that situation).

This is even bigger rubbish, man.

Nothing wrong with trying to read the player's intentions.... so what if Kante quickly changed his mind and executed the shot? Do you really expect any human to be able to read someone else's mind and then react to the sudden physical movement, all in sync?

He did set base (by moving along the play), but as you said, the early shot caught him out, which is not necessarily his fault as he would have needed to perform the above in order to have saved that shot.(which is extremely difficult especially when you've got a relatively ferocious shot coming your way!)

How do you expect him to have "anticipated"  a sudden change of direction let alone a change of intention? (which wasn't obvious in Kante's body language just before he shot.)
