sempuki
Walters has signed for Burnley. Gray on the way out? West Ham keen on Gray as well as us.
afar
I don't understand that move at all from Burnley's perspective. Walters is limited and what's worse is he's been past his sell by date for a number of years now. Strange move this early in the window, you could see where they are coming from a little, if this was transfer deadline day but my god there must be a thousand better options than him for a PL club. Leazes_End_Mag
Burnley are going down. We may not be that far off them unless we start investing. We had some absolute dross in our starting 11 last season, never mind squad and we're already penny watching.
themanupstairs
Maybe Darlow wasn't the outstanding bestest of the bestest keeper in the championship last season, but he was definitely one of the better ones. To laugh it off like it's some utter madness to rank him up there is.....laughable
Guest
£5m is a fair price for someone who shouldn't be starting when there's adequate other reserve keepers and Woodman coming through.
afar
For the record I like Darlow also, like his ability and his attitude, but at the end of the day Rafa doesn't appear to rate him so best for all parties that he moves on.
Dave
I'd want more than £5m like, he didn't cost us much less than that. He's a decent goalkeeper with a promising future IMO.
Dokko
We should be looking at £8m for Darlow, anything less would be disappointing. If we don't sign a new keeper I think we may see a lot of Elliot this season.
Guest chopey
I like all 4 of our keepers I can understand why Rafa wants an experienced keeper but between Krul, Elliot and Darlow he has enough.
Dokko
I like all 4 of our keepers I can understand why Rafa wants an experienced keeper but I between Krul, Elliot and Darlow he has enough. I'd personally sell the lot, buy a top keeper and have Woodman on the bench. Wonder if we could tempt Forster back?
themanupstairs
I like all 4 of our keepers I can understand why Rafa wants an experienced keeper but I between Krul, Elliot and Darlow he has enough. They might all be fine as shot-stoppers, but none of them command their area too well nor can they organise a defence. I think the latter is the main reason Rafa wants an experienced big character keeper.

Wouldn't mention top keeper and then Forster in the same sentence, he is massively overrated.

We couldn't afford Hart and Butland wouldn't sidestep (or currently drop a level) for us. Outside of the league I'm not sure of a top keeper who'd join us. HaydnNUFC
Hate having to share a link to this abortion of a website, but not sure if people saw this. Apparently deals are on the table but names aren't out there. Creative midfielder from La Liga(?) and a winger. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-transfers-hatem-ben-arfa-13299868?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

Yeah I'm not saying he wouldn't be good for us, just when you said top keeper I thought you meant it as world class. He would more than do a job for us. Sell/loan out either of Krul or Elliot.
