Toon No9
I think we should look foor players in the spanish league as thoose players are alot cheaper than the brittish. With Rafas knowledge and conections in spain I hope we could find some bargains and up and coming players there. Than we should go after brittish players next summer when we have more TV-money avalible.
louistoon
On Traore, not seen him play at all but is his end product really as bad as people say? Just been looking at his stats for Barca B, and he got plenty of assists in La Liga 2. Could part of the reason for his poor record be that he was playing for Boro who were offensively none existent last season? Given he was 21 and it was effectively his first season in the league, based on his La Liga record I'd say he'd be worth a punt as a backup for Ritchie. Especially if it was a straight swap with Darlow, who as it stands is possibly our fourth choice keeper even if we don't sign anyone.
Joe_F
"Applying finishing touches" - whatever that means: https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/3975827/newcastle-andreas-samaris/ Couldn't even get right who the bid for Darlow was from ffs.
Happinesstan
- The budget is around £70m, although it's not made clear if that is including any sums brought in through sales. - NUFC willing to listen to offers for players like Darlow, to increase transfer funds Can't even follow his own information. Are you a bit special? It doesn't specify if the £70m is including the sale of the fringe players like Darlow, or if the sales would increase the £70m. Any sale would increase transfer funds, although if the starting budget is £40m + a proposed £30m in sales (and the Darlow sale is extra/not budgeted for), its a lot different from £70m + sales. If the £70M budget is dependant on sales then we don't have a £70M budget at all.
Dokko
Samaris or Mccarthy? I'd personally go for the younger player with prem experience. Hope we make the right decision as it's a key transfer. Saying that just seen Everton want £25m for him ffs.

Guest firetotheworks
Considering my feeling was that everyone except Richie, Shelvey and Gayle weren't good enough, it's fair to say that I'm in the hysterical bedwetting camp, or as I like to call it the fan of a club owned by Mike Ashley for 10 years and isn't arrogantly naive camp. Hoping we find some Kante-esque gem to be honest as neither seem that overwhelming for the money being talked about.

Dokko
Would love to see Hart here. He's in a bad place mentally after being forced out of citeh, doubting his own ability, but I reckon rafa can sort that out and get him back on track. Navas on a free would be tasty as well. Na, that's a piss take. £15m even in today's inflated market is fair enough.

Tiresias
Hart is full of mistakes and bad with his feet. Maybe being harsh, he can be good but seems one of those who goes through bad patches regularly which is not helpful with a goalie. I am more of a fan of Navas than some, but he was often played at City just to stretch play not out of any likelihood he would do all that much himself. However would welcome his speed and hard work. SUPERTOON
Navas is awful, had like one goals and assist in about 4 years at City.
Deuce
Both Navas and Hart would improve our squad. Should be a no-brainer if they can be had for relatively cheap.
nemtizz
Navas is awful, had like one goals and assist in about 4 years at City. 4 goals, 7 assists in his first season. 8 assists in 14/15 and 7 assists in 15/16. Horrific finisher, though.
Greg
People turning their nose up at Navas and Hart. Yes it would be great to be aiming even higher but we have just promoted and need to be strengthened in pretty much every area, these two would improve us in areas where we need improvement. Both are absolute no-brainers if we can bring them on sensible money.
