Time for the portuguese hooligans to have their time under the spotlight!

That's the best spot the ball competition ever [emoji38]

Granny in the brown coat putting in work.

For sure the picture is fun.

But it's not only the fans... Here's a small compilation of challenges from the team they support:

This is from the portuguese 3rd division. Situation got so serious that some teams refused to played them. It turns out that this team of leg breakers his composed of FC Porto hooligans. They ended in 1st with many victories due to the opponents not showing up. I am not kidding at all.

Time for a reality check for Cristiano Ronaldo.

He is without a doubt the most overrated player in the history of football.

It is made out like he is some sort of legend, but a legend is capable of achieving great things in a poor team.

He can not lift Portugal to greatness. He is not a legend.

I trust you don't think Messi is a "legend" either then.  He can't even get a good team (Argentina) to a trophy, never mind shite like Portugal

Portugal aren't shite. Messi's been better than Ronaldo in international tournaments. Portugal might be better if Ronaldo didn't take 18 shots a game from ridiculous angles

Compared to Argentina they are. Quality all over the pitch is way superior

Portugal have talented players but they've been bang average for a number of years now.  Like England levels.  Good enough to have a  most of possession against most teams.  Not good enough to do much with it.

Absolutely no rhythm tonight.  Ronaldo is a horrible captain for this team too.

Ronaldos an all time great though obviously.

Argentina are nothing special at the back or central midfield bar Mascherano. Pepe would be their best defender.

Aye but to be fair Portugal have two wingers as fullbacks and an an ancient Dickie Carvalho making up the rest of their defence  They've not really had a proper striker in forever either. It's usually just been hoy some knacker up there to allow Ronaldo to play from the left, but now they seem to just play him through the middle. Moutinho still starting games for them can't be good either, looks well off the pace.

Ronaldo used to actually take the ball and go past people. Now all he does is knock it short to someone and then run away, often becoming a bit part player

Fine for Madrid with their talent but he has to grab a game for these and dominate, he just doesn't do that now.

Thought Bale was the same for Wales, not really looking to dominate despite having the talent

Why would Fugazi have lied about that?

Well I assume(d) he got the quotes from twitter as they're copy pasted.

A search on twitter and you only find one person running with said quotes, some guy from the daily mirror. Like fuck do I believe that.

On portuguese TV he said this quote "It was a little bit frustrating, we tried hard to win the game, Iceland didn't try anything. They scored a goal, they created two chances in the ninety minutes and otherwise they got every player behind the ball"

but not the small mentality shite or whatever, that he's claimed to have said.

Of course people will jump right on the throat of the daily mirror usually but for some reason this is 100% accurate with no proof

Eh? That link above is the Telegraph. Every media source is running with it, including the BBC. The Mirror might be a red top but they don't just make up quotes ffs.

He belongs at Madrid really with that attitude, of course Iceland are going to sit back and counter they're hardly going to try and fucking outplay Portugal. That was a well executed gameplan for them and they done well.

In reality he's lashing out because he knows his NT teammates are nowhere near the quality required and also lack functionality as a team (apart from the defence which is old as fuck so can rely on experience) which is why Portugal have been shit for a while and if memory serves me right, they've been losing/drawing to minnow nations fairly often for the past few years, so they clearly just don't know how to deal with that gameplan.

Hes certainly become worse recently, you could say hes past his peak. He used to have more skill as you say, better set pieces and was quality at long shots. Almost like his skills have decreased due to the ease at which he has learnt to be set up ar Madrid, hes a finisher now who just wants more goals to add to his numbers. Tbh Bale was a better player in his last season at Spurs than anything ive seen since, that player was ridiculous. Better than current Ronaldo. Beat players for fun and put in last min 35 yarders near every week from half way through that season onwards. Im not sure going to Madrid is getting the best from these lads oddly. I suppose when its easier you dont have to create as much for yourself so those skills are less used over time. Hasnt affected the Barcelona lads though.

So happy with the draw.  No surprise that we sat back.

What a fantastic day it was yesterday.

Wasn't even like you just sat back with 11 men on your own penalty area, which other bigger teams could've done against Portugal. Of course you played on the defensive side, but when you got the ball most of the times you actually tried to do something with it, not just aimless hoofs all the time. Was a very good display from Iceland that

Guest palnese

I used to play with Iceland's number 8, Bjarnason, back when we were 14-15 at this local talent thingy. He was so much better than everyone else.

Chuffed for him and Iceland. Hope they can scrape through.

“He’s just a sore loser,” Kari Arnason said. “He didn’t want to lose the game. What does he expect - for us to play like Barcelona against him? He fannies about and dives around.”

Works better for Wales. Bale should conserve his energy for the opportune times to counter.

Ronaldo ahs more talented team mates he could help to elevate and they tend to have more possession than opponents. Wales don't.

Not true re: Bale. In his last season he played largely as a forward and conserved his energy to score goals. One game... maybe against City he was meant to play on the right... never there... never tracked back... scored. Same season he skipped past a couple of ours and scored but wasn't rampaging up and down the wing.

Messi too better when not running everywhere.

 Ronaldo's such a little pussy.

It is. Nobody can't stand him anymore, even here. People don't care so much for the national team as we did in the ages of Figo, R. Costa, etc. Mainly because of this ridiculous Ronaldo-mania.

This whole hype around him is sustained only by the media.

It has gone from simple annoyance to embarrassment.
