Rafa rates Elliot as someone useful to have in that he is happy to sit on the bench and be second or third choice. Clearly a new 'keeper is a priority for him. He was brought in at the back end of the season as Darlow's head went at Ipswich.

Sels was an awful signing, he wasn't just shaky he was downright awful at times. His technique was not suited to English football at all, our goal keeping coach even said this and that he was working with Sels to try and change his technique.

Awful signings, but like you say we shouldn't just give him away.

Loan with full wages paid and an obligation to buy for a reasonable fee would be a good deal.

Going Anderlecht on loan for a year.

That helps

Well it gets him in the shop window for the season plus I'd imagine they will be paying his wages.

Just like De Crock, Save it & manual rivet

I'm not saying Rafa thinks Rob Elliot is good enough to be our number 1 keeper in the Premiership. It's common knowledge we're looking for a new 1st choice keeper. Rafa seems to rate (based on media stories, not just the last 3 games of the season) Elliot as our best current keeper. Some people still rate Krul. He hasn't had a good season for years. We need a new Keeper and we'll hopefully move a few on.

I don't think he rates any of them. I think he is happy with Elliot being at the club, there's nothing to suggest Rafa thinks he's our best 'keeper.

Elliot he thinks is useful because he is relatively stable, happy to be part of the squad and not play. A useful back up 'keeper as he's happy to just be here. Elliot himself would tell you that Darlow is better than him.

Elliot makes plenty of mistakes as well, though not as comical as Darlow. Elliot seems to handle the pressure in a much better way.

Neither are good enough but Elliot will be happy to stick around the club and not play, Darlow will want to play.

It's been quite a badly managed situation. As things stand we have 5 first team squad 'keepers reporting for pre-season in a few weeks yet none of them are good enough (yet (Woodman)).

We just need to bite the bullet and spend money on a proven entity. Darlow was bought from the Championship, Elliot League One, Sels from Belgium, Krul and Woodman from the youth setup. It's a hit and hope mentality and it really doesn't work at top level.

Officially moved to Anderlecht on a season long loan.

We don't seem to be able to get rid of players without loaning them. Shows just how bad our recruitment policy has actually been.

Tbf he came in under Rafa and was the only bad signing out of 11. So that's a decent average.

Lazaar was an awful signing too, to be fair. Anyway hopefully now everyone on the recruitment side has the same focus and agenda, and no more utterly perplexing signings of untested players.

Completely forgot about Lazaar to be honest

As usual criticism he got was way beyond the mistakes he was making, yet others get away with them....

He cost us a place in a semi-final of a major competition, the criticism he got was justified, even if it was overboard.
