frankpingel
Muscle injury according to radio newcastle, assume soft tissue rather than ligament.
AyeDubbleYoo
About as vague as possible, but at least it's not 'he's done his cruciate'.
TRon
Looks like 30 goals this season rather than 40 is going to be realistic now then.
sempuki
Hamstring injury - that usually means 3 weeks plus.
BlackandWhite
Was out all day and didn't hear and know an ounce about the game until I got in a few minutes ago. Seeing this thread title it felt like I was kicked in the chest my a mule but it doesn't seem to be too bad from the early sounds if it. If he's ruled out for 3 months tomorrow I think I'll be close to tears.
Shearergol
Can we recall Armstrong? I believe so yeah.
joeyt
Obviously don't want him to be injured but it's not the worst time for him to get injured with a cup game, Rotherham at home then either another cup game or a weekend off, then QPR at home. Would be nice to have him fit for Derby at home in 3 weeks time but that might be unlikely Plus we're in January so might force our hand to buy some players or recall Armstrong

TRon
I doubt Rafa would recall him anyhow.
Joe_F
Doesn't sound too serious he's tweeted he'll hopefully be back playing soon.
Menace
Armstrong barely gets a start for Barnsley ffs
louistoon
Next matches are Rotherham, QPR then Derby all at home, as Brighton seems to have been postponed due to the FA Cup. Hopefully with Shelvey back we should have enough to win those games without him at least.
Ronaldo
Thank fuck it's not serious. We'll struggle without him and not just because of goals either. He leads the line extremely effectively.
sbnufc
Armstrong barely gets a start for Barnsley ffs Aye.. ridiculous for people wanting him to return. I've no idea why he's so highly rated with some of our fan base other than 'he's a geordie'

I've no idea why he's so highly rated with some of our fan base other than 'he's a geordie' Because he has a really good record with England under 21's, and scored 20 goals for a struggling Coventry side in League 1 last season, despite only being 18? I've no idea why he's so highly rated with some of our fan base other than 'he's a geordie' Its nothing to do with being a Geordie. It is something to do with scoring 20 goals in League 1 as a teenager. Lots of people seem determined to write him off more than the other way around
Hanshithispantz
Sammy Ameobi was on our bench today and we've just had 3 more injuries Pretty obvious why people would be open to an Armstrong return like. Our only fit striker is nearly 34.

I've no idea why he's so highly rated with some of our fan base other than 'he's a geordie' If we can't get another striker in then Armstrong returning to cover Murphy the next few games would be something we could try. Otherwise we're a Murphy injury away from having to play Ayoze or Gouffran up front. Also him scoring plenty last season means he's highly rated, nothing to do with him being a geordie
Karjala
Cant hurt to have Armstrong back like, would hope he'd do better in the top teams starting 11, than Barnsleys too.

Well that's not true is it. He scored 20 goals for a 'struggling' Coventry side who finished 8th.
