The little bit about Rafa telling him he was welcome to stay the season after promotion was nice. Always thought he could be handy coming off the bench if needed that first season back.

so Rafa did know what he was doing all along.

 

bet the likes mourinho wouldnt have had a clue about him had they been our coach.

saying that, though, he wouldnt have stayed with us after relegation.

A great example of how you don't need to to be the best to be appreciated here. Some effort when playing and no complaints when not. Good lad.

Remember Kieron Dyer (I think) complaining about Le Sib's cult status. Said that he had done much more for the club than Sibierski, which is true. But it's amazing what exceeding everyone's expectations can do for you.

Dyer was very good, however a combination of injuries and media stories (true or not) contributed to him being rather disliked.

 

Consider Asprilla....I can only remember a few good contributions from him and both are quite obvious. He was here only 2 years and didn't score that many, but is still almost universally liked.
