Newcastle United 3-1 Notts Forest - 30/12/2016. Post match reaction from page 17

Lazy cowards on the pitch.

Does this always have to be the criticism when we play badly like? Same last season

Deep down a lot of people are PFMs. They'd all be Pardew if they were managers.

"Their all cowards"

""Stick two upfront"

"Go more direct"

"More passion"

Will have to see what people at the match say considering its not being shown anywhere but it sounds like we played really well for about 20mins then started to let them back into the game. Their goal was rank bad defending, nothing at all to do with the tactics. Sounds like quite an even game since their goal.

Nothing wrong with constructive criticism of the management and system but people are acting like it hasn't generally worked a treat in the first half of the season.

We look totally devoid of ideas in the final third and our defending has been horrendous on a number of occasions. Need a change at half time. Get Colback off and stick Anita there if he doesn't want to go 4-4-2? Something has gotta change.

You taking note now ?

Yes. Colback off

The home tactics do not work plain and simple and I can't for the life understand why he is persisting with it - if this was Pardew or McClaren he would be getting slaughtered for it.

Forest are absolutely dreadful. So much space (particularly out wide) yet we are failing to capitalise.

We are really slow in the first phase of possession; passing aimlessly around the back with no real intent. Colback in particular showing little interest in starting moves off. Allowing them to get back into shape.

Last time in the Championship we played 4-5-1 away and 4-4-2 at home. We didn't lose once at home all season. Rafa is too rigid and stubborn with his system.

Last time in the championship we didn't have Colback in midfield.

Aye, we had Alan Smith

Unfortunately for us right now, Smith back then is a hell of a lot better player than Colback now, and Smith was certainly no world beater.

Smith was ten times better than Colback man. No question. Especially in this league.

You think opposition mids are more worried about Colback than they were Smith?!

At least Smith had the athleticism to win headers and run them down, and at least force them into errors. Colback doesn't phase them one bit.

You're such an eejit, like.

Sounds like this 1st half performance is even worse than the game against Sheffield.

Where are you listening?! Just so I can avoid it.

In my living room atm.

Avoiding that should be easy enough.

Yes Sir!

Agree. What about a switch in system? Is Gayle up to much by himself there....

Tell you what, Clark doesn't cover himself with glory for their goal either.

I need to see a replay like as it just seemed a catalogue of errors.

It was just crap defending. About three players mucked up, and it fell to to their striker.

Gotta love the "bet you'd prefer Pardew, Carver or McClaren" patter from some whenever any slight criticism of Rafa happens

It's ridiculous.  If we have a shite manager then you can criticise them all they like, soon as a good manager is in can't criticise their decisions at all.

Yes, because Colback is flying around out there isn't he.

 what a load of shit. Smith's athleticism is on a par with Blackadder's asthmatic ant carrying heavy shopping.
