Sheffield Wednesday vs Newcastle United - 08/04/2017 @ 17:30 (Live on SS1)

Recommended Posts

We've dropped 16 points in our last 17 matches which includes the whole of 2017 and people are genuinely concerned we'll drop 11 in the remaining 6. And not only that, but Huddersfield Town will win every single one of their 7 remaining matches.

Wonder if fans of other clubs still think we're deluded?

It's just the mindset of an average Newcastle fan, default position is that everything will go wrong.

Another tight game which we'll edge it.  Best thing for the game itself would be Sheffield Wednesday to come and attack us.

All we can do is keep winning and hopefully this will be another, just a shame the home form is atrocious, but whose to blame for that, poss negativety

Our home form is hardly atrocious like [emoji38]

5th best in the division, 3 points away from being 3rd best. Absolutely atrocious.

Just one of several "myths" which have been freely bandied around this season.

Another example could be certain people saying Knockaert is the best player in the league (he is very decent mind) while Paul Dummet is poor, conveniently ignoring that Dummet hardly gave him a sniff over the course of two games.

Good practice today for when they dump us out of the playoffs.

Home form has significantly picked up, but it was poor before we came into this calendar year.

We were actually 4th in the home league table at the end of 2016 which is higher than where we are in the home league table now. It's certainly not been ideal but shouldn't be described as atrocious.

We had a better win percentage before the New Year than since the new year at home

Isn't this the pattern for our form in general?  1st half of season we were very streaky in terms of wins 5-6 on a row and then a defeat.  2nd half much more consistent in terms of getting results but also less wins.

Rafa will know this is a tough game and will have the squad ready for it.

Their form recently has also dipped.

I'd like to see us do a job on them the same way they did us in Boxing Day, the fuckers.

We could lose 16-0 today and Huddersfield could win 123-0 and we'll still comfortably go up.

Wish people would stop wetting themselves for absolutely no reason.

Ultimately Rafa knows there are no guarantees until it's a mathematical reality, and I believe he will be incessantly drilling this into the players' heads as a collapse now could be a monumental disaster for us as a top class football club.

[emoji38] Probably, but just at the other end of the optimistic/pessimistic scale.
