Newcastle United vs Preston North End - 24/04/2017 @ 19:45 - Live on Sky

The more we flap on, the harder it's going to be.  We give the same, if not better support than the Leeds game and we'll be alright.  We're a team. We're supposed to be called United. It's time to get this shit done

From memory Perez has always been terrible on the left, he should start behind Gayle for the last 3 games

Wolves at home he was dire, seem to remember their 2nd goal coming from him on a left.

An early goal and we'll make Preston look like ordinary boys

Andrew Madley, Bobby's brother (and also from Huddersfield), is down as the ref for this. Out of all the referees available in the EFL, can they not just give us one that is completely impartial FFS? It was farcical against Brighton and it's probably even more so now given that the stakes are that much higher.

That ref refereed the League Cup game against Preston where he sent one of their players off and we won 6-0 tbf.

He's not the tool his brother is, but still an odd choice.

Rafa should highlight this before the game, if nothing else it might put him under a little pressure to ensure he is fair, or favour us slightly because he wants to look cleaner than clean. It's the sort of thing Ferguson would do, the odious git.

It's just pointless and unnecessary controversy ahead of what could be a potential promotion decider. Accept that he may have reffed our games before without incident but why can't the EFL just put someone in charge with no affiliation to either side for the removal of any doubt?

Really can't believe it makes any difference where he's from.

It will be the talking point if he fucks up. There's just no need to take that risk.

Over the last 4 seasons (including this) we have won just 1 Monday night game losing the other 11.  :frantic:

Thats some stat

Not that surprising given we've lost a hell of a lot of matches in that time.

You're very naive then.

He's from Huddersfield. Not sure whether or not he supports them (He's not allowed to referee them) but he'll have many friends and family members who are Huddersfield fans if nowt else and it's a huge game for them as well. It's an unnecessary appointment which puts the referee in an awkward position.
