And to be fair, Pardew's Newcastle team did beat Rafa's Chelsea one. No reason we couldn't have won that tournament. He prioritised the Sunderland game and still lost it.

In the space of 2 weeks we managed to get knocked out of the Europa League and lose 0-3 and 0-6 to Sunderland and Liverpool respectively.  Great times

 

This can't be right, I thought we lost 6-0 when we had geremi, smith and co?

We got battered 0-3 in 2007/08 under Allardyce when it really should've been 0-9 or 0-10. The atmosphere at that game was horrifically toxic. And in 08/09 they again dicked us and should've scored more but it was 1-5 under JFK. Both games Liverpool were managed by Rafa, who apparently doesn't play good football, too defensive, doesn't let his players past the half way line and stuff. Read it on here.

 

The 0-6 was under Pardew, Suarez was banned for Liverpool, and they again should've scored more. Our pathetic attempt at an offside trap that game. :lol:

 

Christ I had totally forgotten about the 0-6 somehow, but just googled it now i remember, good times

 

I remember it was horrendous. Turned up expecting us to give them a usual SJP pumping (wahey, no Suarez!), but it went quickly wrong...

Kenedy has been linked with Bayern Munich this week, and Benitez said: 'He has the the level to play in a top team, yes. But he is in a top side already! If we can get two or three with experience or more quality, he will be even better.'

He’s just brilliant!

 

I echo the above comments - it’s unbelievable that he is our manager under an owner like that wanker! I hope he’s here until he retires and I wouldn’t swap him for any manager in the world!

Love Rafa, but I've fallen for Ashley's lies on the run up to season ticket renewal for the past 2 years and, along with thousands of others, felt duped into parting with my money.

 

Despite the relative success we've had under Rafa, I won't be taking any future interest in NUFC until Fat Cash has fucked off and we've got an owner worthy of the club.

“It was weird, he was using bibs up in the air and you had to shout out the colour of the bibs. It was something I’d never done before but you can tell it’s paying off.

 

“He pushes us every day. He’s always on to us in training about stepping up a gear, and you’d think being on 38 points it would come down a notch, but the tackles are still flying in and everyone still wants to win, which is good.

 

“I think he has been good for my career. He’s made me understand the game a lot better, and tactically. I owe that to him.”
