Still think that curry night was the sealing of the deal, like. It fits too well with everything we know about how Ashley does business. With the amount of journalists that reported the 'agreement' at the same time, there's no way that wasn't put out by the club. Assuming Rafa's line of not knowing how much he has to spend is to attempt to protect us from being fleeced during negotiations.

I would love to have your optimism.  Rafa doesn't look like a man who knows he's going to receive a war chest - he looks more like someone who knows he's getting nothing.

Still cant believe that people fall for s**** under the Ashley regime. There is no takeover and there will be no big spend in January.

Proper mugs believing every single outlet, absolute tools. Definitely a ruse. Ashley has fabricated the whole story to take the piss out of the Geordie nation , can't believe people can't see it. He'd happily se us relegated to teach us a lesson. Stupid fans.

The only reason we hate Ashley is because he's not a Geordie

Why wouldn't  he sell the club ?

Its in a mess and needs money spending on it to get it out of the mess .

The lad on Newcastle Mad Forum who said it was sold before the £300 million bid was announced by the journalists has just posted again and he is adamant it has been sold and everything is ready for January. I really hope so it got to the point today where I couldn't listen to the match on the radio it was just depressing I had to turn it off.

Any chance the announcement is not being made in order to keep prices down in January perhaps? So we can get the most we can for the money being made available?

Hoping that's the case.

It does seem very strange that they'd walk out of that meeting without either calling the whole thing off or being very, very close to accept agreement.

Ashley is a fucking spiteful lunatic if he let's this bid pass and then doesn't spend money in January.

Ashley may decided not to sell the club until after the January sales out of spite for not getting the money he wants, just to further cock us up and then we'll be lumbered with him as their certainly won't be anyone willing to buy us. He will then simply sit back and keep on coining it in via the parachute and anything else that he can grab.

For Ashley it’s 1 of 2 scenario’s and neither relies on the club staying up.

1: he walks away from a deal where he gets 50m+ profit upon the sale of the club;

Or

2: he leaves the club as is, continuously strips the club from a operating cost stand point, pockets any profit to get his money back from a loan perspective and reaps the continued rewards of exposure through the press for SD relegation or not.

As far as Mike is concerned he has the control here not Staveley as long term he’ll get back what he put in.

If we are relegated he will not get back what he has put in. To be honest he would have to stay in the premier league every season to get the money but even then with every other club spending and getting a better squad he wouldn't be able to take any money out as that would have to be spent on new players so we can just stay in the Prem. The only way he has a chance on making his money back is selling now.

This god awful run we are on has come at the worst possible time. If we were sitting pretty higher up the league things would feel so much more smooth and calm. Dropping like a stone feels like it has put a right spanner in the works.

This, along with the "info" that Rafa has no clue what he has to spend in January would make the most business sense IMO. The downside is the visible effect this whole saga has on the players.

What are people on about "Ashley getting his money back"? The fat cunt has already had his money back and more. All he has to do is sell it at what he paid for it but obviously with inflation in this particular business he'll want more.

I think it's happening FWIW. There just needs to be an official statement of what's going on.

Fucking hate the FCB me like. It's all his fault this time around. Not like in previous years. It's 100% his fault.

I don’t see how this year is any different to the last decade under his ownership bar the odd season tbh. Ashley’s model for the club has been a massive, massive failure and without this takeover materialising asap and significant investments being made we are doomed for the long term.

The squad we have compared to previous years is the poorest by some distance. In the 2 relegations and other close scares, you could say we were too good to go down and it was mainly poor management that screwed it up.

Even Ashley can see that this season relegation is a far greater risk and without big players to sell to help fund the losses, will cost him big.

Agree with the first part, very dubious about the second.

Do just a small amount of digging and see how many businesses Ashley is buying on the quiet. This is a man who said he had wallpaper not cash.

It’s happened, just wait on the announcement.

Rafa is hiding it well then.

He’s the master.

Just don’t see where Ashley is getting his money from otherwise.
