Very disappointing there was no physical action tbh

Yeah that would have been wise, with 8 Police officers in attendance.

On that note why is it that if an ordinary person is being actually threatened the police can't do anything until a crime is committed, but cunts like Ashley can get police protection all the way home?

you report there is going to be a breach of the peace and they have to respond.

Aye, can people settle down.

For what it’s worth TMG have not ruled out a boycott, they have only ruled it out for now until there is more support. Some people who go to games do so because outside of TMG there wouldn’t be enough support to make it worthwhile.

Getting upset over people who do or don’t still go to games is like getting upset that no one last night just took Ashley out.

You cannot tell people what to do, and as soon as you do the sooner you divide the fans and lose your support.

People need to grasp this.  If it happened now, the same people calling for it now, would be complaining that not enough people joined in.

What makes you think more people will join in later?

Now is the time, bad results and Ashley VISIBLY taking the piss and telling fans to fuck off.

Time IS NOT on our side in this if we want to keep Rafa Benitez.

We've got the rest of the season until rafa is gone. It doesn't need to be done now in a half arsed manner.

As the season continues and we continue to show how ill-equipped the squad is, more people will turn and join the protests.

TMG are doing a fantastic job to raise the awareness of things that are being brushed under the carpet or that regular match going fans are choosing to ignore. I agree a boycott needs to happen, but it needs to happen when there is enough appetite for it. Which isn't now.

The protests are getting larger. They are getting more attention by match going fans, they are getting more attention politically, even the media tide is turning. With every protest we are getting more and more coverage, and believe me we are about to get a bit more coverage soon.

First you have to entice people to join in the protests, get them to come back to future protests, hand things out etc, then they have the bug and then they will be more willing to take action that they never considered beforehand.

We are already seeing this with every protest and every meeting.

Ashley is reacting the way he is because it’s getting to him. Even the meal last night would never have happened if it wasn’t from fan pressure, sure he cocked up but that’s an indication that it really is getting to him.

Last night you said "trust me they have other plans moving forward". And now this. Why were these plans not discussed at the meeting?

I'm not bemoaning anybody's efforts as it has been terrific, but this just seems weird.

Aye, can you elaborate please.

It's on camera, Mike.

He did it in a sly way so it could look like he was just resting his face on his hands while two fingers were coincidentally cocked towards the window. Not sure the media is going to buy it though.

Was his head even resting on the two fingers?! It looked like that was bending the other way! The fat cunt!

Get ready for the Mike Ashley set to back Rafa in January after clear the air talks stories.

Nah i’m expecting the usual “Jan is a difficult window” crap

Or we sign players in jan and then spend nothing the following summer. Especially if we get punted out of the prem league.

Of course he won't sell when he can make money and benefits from the club.

Wonder what exotic destination he is putting on the table. Sadly, this will directly or indirectly be under "club expenditure" but played out differently in the media.

Newcastle owner Mike Ashley tells struggling team he will take them on holiday if they stay in Premier League and vows NOT to sell club this season

  • Newcastle owner Mike Ashley met club staff and players for meal on Wednesday
  • He promises the squad a holiday if they avoid Premier League relegation
  • Ashley also said the club would not be sold this season and promised funds
  • Newcastle are in the bottom three as they await their first win of the season
  • Ashley appeared to give the V-sign to protesters outside the restaurant

Mike Ashley has promised to take his Newcastle squad on holiday if they avoid relegation and has told them he will NOT be selling the club this season and is determined to keep manager Rafa Benitez.

Sportsmail can exclusively reveal what the owner said to the team during Wednesday night's clear-the-air dinner in Northumberland, after which he appeared to make a V-sign gesture to protesting supporters.

Ashley refutes the suggestion he swore at fans after spending three hours inside Rialto's restaurant attempting to mend relations with Benitez and his players.

And we understand that included the promise of an end-of-season holiday if they can recover from a seven-match winless start which leaves them in the drop zone.

Ashley intervened after witnessing Saturday's 2-0 home defeat by Leicester and sent a message to the dressing-room saying that he would be taking them out for dinner on Wednesday night.

And it was there that Ashley told Benitez and stars including captain Jamaal Lascelles, Matt Ritchie and Jonjo Shelvey that they should not be distracted by talk of the club being sold this season.

He claimed that no party has ever come close to meeting his valuation and that some had tried to steal the club at a knock-down price.

We understand he admitted to them that he has made mistakes but now plans to take a more hands-on approach and will be present at both matches and training sessions in the coming months.

Ashley, who was meeting Benitez face-to-face for only the fourth time in two-and-a-half years, also insisted to the players that the Spaniard was going nowhere and he needed him as manager for the team to be successful on the pitch.

To that end, he said that plans were being made for January - and it is this what would have been of interest to Benitez.

He was furious after a stand-off over his contract situation in the summer saw Ashley refuse to release significant transfer funds and the club returned a £21million profit, leaving them short in key areas.

Benitez will only stay on as boss - his deal expires in June - if Ashley backs him with cash in the New Year and agrees to improvements at the training ground and an overhaul of the academy.

And that is what supporters care about, keeping a manager the club is lucky to have in the first place.

Benitez was all smiles as he arrived for the pizza and pasta summit and he was seated next to Ashley and managing director Lee Charnley for what sources say was a healthy exchange.

But Ashley's apparent indiscretion afterwards sullied what should have been an otherwise productive night and it will only intensify the feeling of fans to get him out of their club.

Wish people would lay of Ashley now - lets forget the previous 11 years - move on. Good to know he will be taking a more hands on role now and be attending matches as well as being at the training ground too - I feel my anger towards him has subsided now after yesterday.

you mean someone taking advantage of a situation at a poorly run business, cos Ashley has never done that before.
