Can’t be that far off having the option to do a type of fans trust type of takeover like Pompey did.

Give it’d require putting their hands in their pockets it won’t happen though as a healthy portion of their support are ‘parasites’ in the words of their former director and more interested in ‘actually damaging the progress of the club’ to quote their former chairman.

Agree, they talk a good story but not a chance on earth would they part with money to save themselves , let just sit back and laugh at them .Im actually stumped to think of anything to not laugh at them it’s actually a very boring rivalry now. Just a knowing snigger at them .

Guest chicken little

aye but after witnessing the fans wailing and gnashing their teeth at the constant and consistent fuck ups of both ellis and donald, it'd be wonderful to watch the reaction as their club continues its death spiral whilst owned by they themselves.

And there we come to the crux of the problem with Sunderland AFC. They can bleat on about how the club is the literal lifeblood of their town, their whole identity, and how all they want is PL football in a PL stadium. Just as long as it's all funded by a weathly owner and they don't have to pay for it themselves.

It's a poor town man. Pull yourselves together. They have delusions about their status in the world but if they had the money they'd show up imo.

Two things can be true at the same time mind. And I’m quoting their former owners who’ll know better than I ever could. From the outside in their fans are too fractured for it to happen anyway. Much like us.

More concerned about wanting Wycombe and Accrington to go bust and Coventry being allowed to play home games than the plight of the joke owners they welcomed in to the club like heroes who played them for what they are.

Bit of an odd insult having a go at their fans, living in one of the most deprived areas in the country, for not being able to afford buying out a club in some hypothetical scenario tbh - I don't think our fans would act any differently.

Yep we know that , it’s more the fact they talk about doing, when in facts it’s a pointless Uber fans statement.

The guy in many of the social media pictures of this weekends London right wing riots was a sunderland native, of course.

He was wearing lime green tiny shorts and a bikini top, had pissed himself and was standing next to a Britain First flag, upon which they had misspelled Britain deciding to call it 'Britian'

Imagine if he was from Newcastle

For what's worth, that image was photoshopped. There was no self-pissing, and they had actually spelt everything correctly on the flag.

Selling their no1 keeper to Blackburn, another one of their best youngsters to Norwich, released their best striker, not offering their top goal scorer a new deal and expected to release their best player due to an ongoing spat with the manager.

Looking good for next season, if there is one and if they’re still around.

Turns out the bikini top was photoshopped. Not sure about the piss stains or, indeed, the Britian spelling tho. This character's biggest and immediate problem, however, is he was also filmed running up behind a copper and kicking them to the floor. He'll be doing time. Considerable time given his rap sheet.

wtf - are they intent on burning the club to the ground?

Well its not all bad if they:

Release their average and now overpaid players who haven't delivered saving wages over the lockdown, claws some fees in to use to pay smaller personal fees for free transfers. Use their stature and financial advantage (in terms of wages) to have the pick of the 1,500 players released in the EFL plus any 20-24 year old talent released by prem clubs and rebuild the squad with players with a future and who can be sold for profit. Even if that means spending another year after in L1 the fans wouldn't mind as its a clear indication things are changing and time is needed for the young to get going.

What they will do:

Get rid of everything they can, regardless if needed. Leave it late to start recruiting, find their dithering and cheapness (not paying for hotels to bring players up for talks) as well as their general arrogance see targets move elsewhere. Panic sets in and they start the scattergun approach getting players who don't fit any criteria but are simply names on the sheet, then expect a very average L1 manager to try and knit it all together with a couple of weeks before start of the season. Of course they've paid higher wages than they wanted for players with excess baggage (injuries, attitude, skill level and age) meaning when a player who is worth the extra mile comes up they have to pass as they've got a 37 year old 4 times divorced L2 veteran with a criminal record on a 3 year deal.

Curious to know whether HTT's lad is going to be starting for them next season...?

They’ve kept us informed throughout Covid-19, but no-one is in a position to know what the future holds there for anyone, or even the game itself should we be hit by a second bigger wave! NUFC on the other hand haven’t even been in touch with anyone... no surprises there!

I doubt they have a financial advantage anymore. They hemmorage money and they aren't owned by rich owners. Well, there is Juan Trump but he's given them a quid since he got there

They're hitting the point where those resources start to become the thing that weighs them down. They can't just stop funding the academy, for example.

Their only objective will be to make the club financially viable from their POV as owners. Whether that is in the third division or conference league won't really be their concern. They had a go at reaching the championship, failed twice, and now it will be full on Ashley-mode.

Well their fans always said that's what they wanted so they are welcome to it.
