It's fucking gone crazy in here.

I contacted TMG last week and begged them to take the protests up a notch and convince the protesting thousands not to enter, and as another poster says just keep it going week in week out gradually building the numbers, also plan a mass late entry on a televised game. But it's obvious you can't convince 50,000 to not turn up or go in all at once, they are the ones that have to convince themselves, the best way usually is by gradually building up numbers and the knock on effect or the way people copy their pals or are influenced by social media etc etc might just see people get on board for a mass boycott further down the line.

Having some sort of Newcastle or media icon influence people to boycott might help, but I'm not sure if the TMG have any big influential figures on board, would be nice if someone as influential as Big Al could get on board but I'm guessing his BBC career might jeopardise any sort of involvement.

Tubes doesn't do himself any favours with the way he goes on but he is right like, 100%.

I agree that people should stop going, but going on like that and including those who are also organising and protesting in your judgement while thinking you're a martyr because your sole contribution is not going to matches while living in Norfolk? Nah.

I'll always disagree with people going to matches while Ashley's here, but considering the two sets of fans are putting that to one side to come together for the better of the club, bitching about other fans while doing exactly nothing whatsoever yourself only really serves to inflate your own sense of virtue and wind people up over how unbelievably rich it is.

I know what you mean but we're that far down the line that protesting then paying your money and going into the ground is just a concept completely lost on me at this point, it feels such an empty gesture, especially when he's there smiling at his paying customers singing about him. The more I stay away and see the ground remain full makes me wonder if I'd even bother going back when Ashley's gone. I just feel I have nothing in common with these people anymore. :undecided:

If Rafa wasn't here and he wasn't making it clear that he and the team need the support I'd probably agree, but until then I can understand the conflict of interest for some. After Rafa goes it's a bit different though, I'm hoping, probably naively, that when that happens there'll be significantly reduced numbers going.

That's not loyalty, that's stupidity.

Then you are an idiot!

Perhaps.

I've been going to the match since i was 8 years old and am 50 now. I've seen much worse than this, BUT always with hope that it could get better. The hope is draining now mind, but going to watch NUFC is and always has been such a massive part of my life i just can't bring myself to stop going.

Protests are all very well, BUT until someone makes the fat bastard an offer he can't refuse he's going nowhere.

cant you see the obvious, that the prospect of money drying up, speeds up his process of finding the buyer?

FFS. How can you know know that there is no hope while Ashley is here. He sat there laughing at you today, man.

Literally.

Loving the mugs who still buy overpriced food & drink, before during and after the game. And the fact he's looking down on 50,000 shouting abuse but having no effect on him.

The majority of people who go to the game are just sheep nothing else. The bloke today was openly laughing at you all and the vast majority just drop your heads in the sand  and did fuck all about it. I’ve even had someone today having a go because I was slagging these people off and asking what did I do today. Well I done fuck all because I stopped going to games a few year back because the fat cunt laughing at you all at the match today was not going to take the piss out of me anymore.

What a shitshow. He’s bought the perfect self perpetuating cash cow. Fail and still keep your consumer base. It’s that simple. Why would you fund. ‘Hell not stop me going’ ffs. I don’t want to gripe but it’s not about the good of you or indeed me. It’s the club. Every quid he gets is ammo for him. Another point of validation.

Fed up of listening to trite ‘it’s my drug’ arguments and people who think ‘it’s a waste of time’ based on the fact that whether it works or not they don’t want to do something they cant be arsed doing. Yeah it’s easier for distance fans to see it’s not worth it and if youre happy to pay the scum of the earth your hard earned so you can see your dad or have a pint then god help you. Sorry, really don’t like knocking match goers, hearts in the right place but it’s common sense and misguided.

Think this is directed at me so I'd like to say it's far more than that. After his accident in January and hearing how serious it was I genuinely thought he was going to die. Thank the heavens he made it through; this year/season will be my last as (hopefully) I'll be off to university. After his accident it kinda made me realise life, especially with your family, is greater than anything, and after what happened I'd like to treasure every minute I can with him. The match is something I tried to steer him away from during the Carver run and the McClaren season but he's far too obstinate, but Rafa drew me in, and I've (sorta) enjoyed it mostly. I'm absolutely hating this season though, if or when Rafa goes that was going to be me finished regardless of uni and something is giving regarding not going with my dad personally. I hope at least.

It’s not personal, sorry if it came across that way. Glad to hear he’s on the other side of whatever happened. I was just generalising about how lots of people use it as the basis for socialising with family and friends and seemingly just ignore the handing over of money because of it. It’s a weird price to pay.
