Newcastle United 3-2 Everton - Sat 09/03/19 - 15:00 (No UK TV)

What is the actual rule now for fouls in the box that prevent a goal scoring opportunity? Rondon had a tap in before he was wiped out. Keeper was responsible for that and we're worse off.

Isn't something about not having double punishment? So you get the pen but not the red card if its in the box. What I don't understand is that Pickford wasn't booked.

Karma for the pantomime booing. Larger section of fans in more voice booing him than any chant against Ashley this season  And just why didn’t Rondon take it? Ritchie never looked confident.

Who gives a fuck? They shouldn’t have even had Pickford in goal.

Depends on if it's a genuine attempt to get the ball nowadays in the box.

Don’t know who is more likely to have alcohol on their breath right now. Ritchie for that god awful clearance for the first and crap pen or the referee for missing a two footed challenge, at the very least a booking for Pickford and a head injury in the build up for their second goal.

Just bizarre that a top level referee doesn’t know the rules.

Said it last weekend, we need to ditch this formation now. Ritchie playing LWB is fucking ridiculous. Get a proper left back in, go 4 at the back and start playing Miggy as a 10.

Awaiting don't criticise the managers formation type responses.

Only if it's not a deliberate foul, i think.

Undoubtedly a red, clear rugby tackle to stop a goal scoring opportunity, you can't argue double jeopardy against that. This game is stacked against us. Saying that, after a strong opening 5-10 minutes we've been mostly shite.

If it's a genuine attempt to get the ball it can't be a red cars if inside the box.

Ritchie again absolutely stupid challenge. Need to stop this five at the back at home as we do not have the quality wingbacks to be a threat. Would get Schar off and get Shelvey on second half.

Should've been a red. Double jeopardy rule only exists when there's an obvious attempt to play the ball. Mental decision.

 Ridiculous then. He f***ed up with his handling and instinctively cleaned Rondon out. Wouldn't be a matchday without another w*** and vital decision in favour of the opposition.

Yeah, don’t think any defence could claim that he was trying to get the ball.

Nailed on red, no argument

Scottish commentator reckons it was a yellow but not a red even though it was rugby tackle ho ho ho

Would love to have seen that happen against the top 4

He doesn't know the rules then (same as me 5 mins ago tbf) as he said himself that Rondon had a tap in and described it as a rugby tackle.
