The bubble will have to burst at some point.  If Bruce had any sense, he would be fully aware of how poorly we have performed and how much luck we have had.  He should be doing something about it urgently.

Resigning would be a good start

Although most of the goals conceded last night were down to individual errors a result like that has been coming for a while. Newcastle rode their luck against the likes Sheffield United, Southampton and Crystal Palace. Every team gets some luck in matches during a season, but the xg table shown above definitely reflects more on what Newcastle are under Bruce than a team currently 10th in the table.

The wheels will come off eventually probably similar to Watford last season who tailed off in the 2nd half of the season and that form spilled over into this season to cost Gracia his job. I just have no confidence in Bruce taking the squad in a different direction from Benitez other than backwards. Just look at the gaps in the middle of the pitch last night when Man United counter attacked, what manager looks at that and thinks that's a good idea.

What annoys me most about him is when results at the start of the season were going against him, he says he doesn't have the players to play his style of football, but when results have been in his favour recently there is no urgency from him to push the club to get players to fit whatever way he wants to play football.

It shows what type of manager he is, a short term manager with no vision as to what he wants a team to be.

We’ll see the real Bruce this second half of the season, where the poor football will only be bettered by poorer results. Defensive calamities will be a weekly entertainment, eieieio, downt the Premier Lesgue we go, when we don’t go down, this is what we’ll sing, super Geordies, super Geordies, Brucie is our king.

Bruce was let done by his players and the referee yesterday. We were the better side and a goal up when McTominay should have been sent off, absolute nailed on 2nd yellow for a professional foul. We then gift 3 goals and the other started with a slap in the face by McTominay.

If this becomes a regular thing and it’s the start of the real Bruce performances let the fun begin. The game was gone after the 3rd never mind the 4th.

Quite a sizeable proportion of our fans seem to be unaware of how poor the performances have been. Not getting beat = can't criticise Bruce. Hell, losing 4-1 = can't criticise Bruce even
