Yorkie
He got pocketed today by Grant fucking Hanley, he's an awful striker and there's no way he can get away with that by just running about a bit. Is this really true?
Guest godzilla
Think you quoted the wrong thing. Rafa was happy to sign him but not at £40 million. Don’t think so, it was reported Rafa thought he was not worth the price and wanted to go for other options.

Don’t think so, it was reported Rafa thought he was not worth the price and wanted to go for other options. George Caulkin has also said something very similar during his latest piece for the Times: ‘Newcastle have long been fixated on Joelinton, Hoffenheim’s Brazilian forward, who will cost around £36 million. ‘They pressed the 22-year-old on Benítez, who demurred; he liked the player, but not at anything like that price and, if there was that much money available, why not let him spent it on his own choices?‘
Disco
He’s shite but he’s being hung out to dry by a manager who’d likely welcome him getting a career ending injury. Also sickening from a known moron to compare him to the absolutely despised SOFT SPANISH FUCKING CUNT Perez.
KaKa
I just don't know how we can evaluate any of our players higher up the pitch in this setup. We saw Rondon look far less a player under Pulis and Perez look far less the player under Pardew and McClaren. But hey ho ... lets keep watching. Saint-Maximin and Almiron have now started going off the boil again too. It's all just rubbish man. I don't know why the pretence anyone looks like they have a clue going forward, and it's down to this one guy.

Not worth the money, as nowhere near the level of player he wanted and wanted that money to get one who was actually worth the price.
KaKa
Says he liked the player. It was not an issue of him not being up to it. He just wanted to get his own players. That's not what you said or are saying.

That's not what you said or are saying. He didn’t want the player at that price and wanted the money to sign his own player. What part of that can’t you understand? He obviously thought he was not worth the money or wanted him otherwise he would have agreed to the signing.

You’re right and at less than half the price. 40 million man for that s*** standard absolutely scandalous. He won’t even make ten million back off him when he’s sold. KaKa
I give up. Let's just keep enjoying this wonderful season where only our defenders score under our brilliant manager, and it's all the striker's fault. The one striker in the whole team who has actually managed to score all season.

Yeah, but then he could potentially lose £30m on a 28yr old striker if he hit 30 and was performing shit/got injured and was still here. This is how Mike views these deals. He made a mint from Perez and Mitro in transfer fees even though they were criticised for years initiallyby fans who expected immediate returns. Both Perez and Mitrovic showed a lot more than Joelinton though. This isn’t about age it’s about a player who is just not up to standard.
AY
He has been poor, but the tactics are ridicilous for a no 9 to succeed. We overload the flanks, and sometimes get crosses in the box from Ritchie, Fernandez or Yedlin. Yedlin usually has poor delivery, but Ritchie's crosses are decent. The problem is that there are literally no one in the box with Joelinton. Our midfield 2 are so slow and defensive that they usually are nowhere near. Hayden has some pace to get in to the box, but doesn't do it often enough. Bentaleb and Shelvey doesn't have the legs. ASM plays very wide, and usually is totally out of everything when the ball is at the other flank. Overloading is fine, but the winger from the other side has to get in to the box more often. This is a very different front 3 if you compare it to Rafa's, when Perez was playing a lot closer to Rondon. Either ditch the back 5, or move ASM and Almiron closer to Joelinton. Guest
Why doesn’t Shearer offer Bruce his services to help the attack given that they’re big mates and all that? You quite often see ex-players offer (knowing full well they’ll never get asked) but surely Brucey would love his help and Big Al would jump at the chance to help. Guest
Maybe he needs to ask the question of the manager setting them up so that ASM & Almiron aren’t having to pick the ball up in their own third, to dribble the ball 60 yards just to get near Joelinton then.
