Oxford United 2-3 Newcastle United - FA Cup 5th round @ WBA beckons

Recommended Posts

it’s gonna be one those losses we have to see and hear about every time the cup is on, you can just tell

I dunno man, when I went back through your games there were three or four that I had forgotten about just in that run. The 3-0 to Oxford, for one.

All right, just for the heck of it and just do this off the top of your head:

1. Who scored the last goal for Newcastle United in the Fourth Round Proper of the FA Cup?

2. Who scored the last goal for Newcastle United in a win in the Fourth Round?

3. Who was the other scorer in that match?

Thoughts on the game - the team simply isn’t built for possession football. I think the only player who can trap the ball the ball and turn is ASM and he is way too unpredictable. Honestly think our current tactic of sitting back, staying compact and hitting teams on the break/utilizing set pieces is for the best. Miggy had a surprisingly quiet game. The front three have zero chemistry. Joelinton lets the team down with his decision making quite a lot. And he loves a lash. That’s got to be the fourth or fifth time he’s lashed at the ball. No composure unless he’s offside. I really hope he’s up to even half speed next season.
