AyeDubbleYoo
It's a symptom of the lack of ambition from top to bottom. It existed under Rafa but the force of his personality and his coaching team was able to keep the team going.
Guest
I will swear again if ever a match drawn suited two teams it was last night. They both were happy to play it out in front of us all. Farce. Nah, Bruce would have wanted the precious 45 point barrier broken last night. He now has to get something from Liverpool.
Willow
I thought this was nicely summed up on .com: The phoney atmosphere of Project Restart games actually sums us up as a football club well at present: existing in a vacuum, devoid of air, life and hope. COVID threatens to break the invisible bonds between club and fans that years of underachievement and shattered dreams couldn't. If this club doesn't get sold, then the job that the current owner and management faces is an unenviable one: attempting to punt a non-existent dream to an increasingly disenchanted fanbase. Perhaps uniquely, we may not have to worry about social distancing at matches when limited crowd return, because increasing numbers are realising that this lot isn't actually worth watching. Skeletor
Steve Bruce is in danger of missing out on the Beat-Benitez trophy. What a terrible shame.
huss9
how the cunt can offer up the excuse of missing 5 centre halfs for our recent performances is ridiculous. its not as though we've been losing 2-3 or 3-4. few chances created, even less goals scored. gjohnson
I've thought Souness was OK as a pundit in recent tines, but for him to bang out the usual anti-supporter tropes, just isn't on. Craig Hope is spot on. Bad thing is that he is generally pretty good as a pundit...as long as he's not talking about Newcastle or Liverpool. Even when he was here he came across pretty well in interviews, and certainly more articulate than some of the numpties who we've had since. Apart from the Bellamy debacle of course
gjohnson
Wonder how many of the commentators would be decent if they could get past their own club bias. Neville does it reasonably well but there's always that underlying impression that it's Man U first. Guess Jena's isn't bad at it either really, despite being a touch dull
samptime29
it's one of the things Rafa never let happen ... he had us playing at our best until the very last game of each season even if it didnt really change the outcome of the season. the players took it on board and continued to bust a gut. just look at his record of the last few games of each season he was here. its clear with with cabbage-heed that once we had reached 38 points he couldnt motivate the team or himself. might be a nice man but he's a fucking horror of a coach. We had our best performance and result of the season, after we'd reached 38 points.

joeyt
It was our best performance of the season, but there's barely any other performances worth mentioning this season. Rarely in a game we play well in both halves
Yorkie
Even McClaren's team scored six once. We battered Portsmouth away from home in 08/09 too. At this level, only the absolute worst aren't capable of tonking some of the more terrible teams in the division.

You literally said as soon as we got to 38 points, the team wasn't motivated. Should've been 6-0 against Bournemouth. The same Bournemouth that beat Leicester 4-1 shortly after our game. If you're talking bollocks, I'll call you out on it.

samptime29
Calling out posters >> > I don't care about Bruce talking shit. He was wrong. There is far too much of that on this board. Weak arguments based on inaccurate evidence. Debate is good. Different opinions are good. But get facts right first at least.
