Problem is. I don’t think it is. More chance of seeing Gordon or even Barnes up top for any meaningful league minutes, unfortunately.

Not a chance Isak gets through this busy run of fixtures if he’s doing close to 90 every game.

That's my worry now. Isak is due an injury and the way this season is going it's bound to happen sooner rather than later.

Unlucky with injuries sure, but you would have to question the commitment side of things too. A lot of players play with niggles, first sign of anything and this guy is off for months.

If you were checked out which i suspect he is, you'd just be running down the clock. He knows Isak is #1 and doesn't seem to have the motivation to take on that challenge.

It's a shame because he's more than decent when he's actually fit or bothered.

How this fucker has the neck to accept a salary is beyond me.  In fact he's probably worried his neck would snap if he didn't

When you're sick, how do you have the neck to accept your pay?

Or sell both when their value was high/we actually had offers. Then buy a striker who isn’t a perma crock or crap.

Honestly. The re-writing on this forum of Wood’s time here is a real head scratcher. Seems a top bloke. Glad he is now doing well. But he was terrible here.

I’m not rewriting it. I’d prefer we sold both and bought Pedro.

Wood is tearing it up. Wilson is tearing up. Some re evaluation of decisions is going to take place.

Playing, or attempting to play, with a hamstring ’niggle’ only ends up one way.

Top wordplay.

Realistically Isak is just going to play every game for at least 80 min each (unless he's injured). And when he gets subbed, it's going to be Gordon up front.

Quite a leap to think Howe will suddenly start trusting him with game time when he's barely been allowed 5 mins as a sub all season. He'll just move Gordon up front and use Barnes and Almiron/Murphy wide right.

At no point was keeping Wood a good idea or perhaps a better option than Wilson. The same way not looking to move Wilson on when he actually had some value, was also a poor decision. As his injuries were only going to get worse and that’s what has happened.

I’m sure some re-evaluation has already started. Mainly why we didn’t look to shift the likes of Almiron, Wilson, possibly Trippier.

I’m not sure there will be much issue with moving on a player who was massively underperforming, wasn’t in the first team plans and at the same time, almost recouping what we paid for him.  If anything, we need to be doing more of that. His transfer should be the blueprint if we need to start trading due to PSR.

as a club, we are shocking at selling players at the right time. As others have said we could of sold Wilson and recouped some funds, same with Almiron. When they are released for free yes the wages are off the books, but theirs no incoming money and from a PSR perspective thats suicide.

Its got to change, and we as a fan base will have to start accepting some player sales when players are good, or we will never progress sadly.

Callum Wilson:

Despite all the hard work I've put in pushing to get back to full fitness, I need to take a little step backwards unfortunately, guys. Frustrating as it is for everyone out there waiting for my return & to be able to help the team, these shortcomings also upset & frustrate me more than anybody else. I will, and I am doing everything in my power to rediscover the best version of myself & finally get off this emotional rollercoaster, which I'm hoping 2025 will bring. Appreciate the patience, love & support from all those closest that know how hard I really work & how professional I always am. Callum

Get's reduced after a period of time.

Clubs could do that in contracts, but then they would miss out on players so it's never a thing.

Footballers being injured is different to being sick for starters.
