Armstrong is a better player than Joelinton.

Agree x100

The backup players look dogs hit

Yes, Armstrong would no doubt turn into Mighty Mouse and win all of the hoofs up towards him if he was playing in the Newcastle team tonight.

His alround play and effort is superior in everything hes done .

Joe lips is a mess of a man , f***ing horrendous and the worst buy in football history.

If Armstrong was upfront for us in this game everyone would be screaming he's s*** stop fooling yourself

How do you know?

I judge on what I can see not guess.

How the f*** can you defend JL ? Are you right in the head?

You just nitpick players you've decided you don't like when the whole team stinks. It's not very clever at all

Goodnight Joe

I like how most of our team was fucking awful, yet it's just one that gets all the abuse

Always have to have a 'scapegoat'.

I pity the guy man, he's in so much trouble at this club, he's just lucky the stadium's are still empty. God help him

Look KaKa, I respect that you think there’s a player there somewhere. But you can’t deny that he’s been woeful most of the time here, and that together with the fact that he cost 40m (not his fault, but you get it) will mean he’ll be heavily criticised.

People focus too much on Joelinton. Yes he was a poor buy, but he's not responsible for the absolutely rancid football we are watching today.

He’s our most expensive player ever and he’s been shite, of course people are going to focus on him.

tactical masterstroke from bruce like tbh. only expend the needed effort to beat minnows, save it for the league. you want max effort against championship dross? guess what that gets you? an injured ASM. Y'all need some remedial sessions of FM tbh.

He didn’t cost £40m though

Everyone was screaming about Hendrick first half on Saturday when he had been having a solid game and he was on a free

If he’s as shit as joelinton this time next season everyone will call him shit too. That’s how it works.

A £40m scapegoat, his big chance to stand out in a average squad against shite and yep he was still shite.

Pardon me for picking on him, he can fuck off back to Germany .

I'd understand that if the team on the whole played even half decently. Especially as he is playing a position that relies on the team playing well for the most part.

Tell that to the best young manager on the planet that had him last season and rates him highly.

As much as you lot hate Bruce, there are a bunch of PFMs on here man. Damn

Ryan Fraser scored on his debut to help Newcastle beat Championship side Blackburn Rovers in the Carabao Cup.

Fraser latched on to a clever Miguel Almiron through ball and slotted home midway through the first half.

Blackburn dominated possession throughout but lacked the cutting edge to prise open a stubborn Newcastle defence.

Steve Bruce's side hung on to earn a trip to Morecambe in the third round next week.

The hosts made 10 changes from the side that confidently beat West Ham in the Premier League on Saturday and it showed in a disjointed performance.

Indeed, it was often Blackburn who looked the more impressive with their slick passing and clever interplay.

But Newcastle had the crucial goalscoring quality in the shape of summer signing Fraser.

The former Bournemouth man was otherwise quiet but he gave an indication of what he can do with a composed finish.

Joelinton had a goal disallowed for offside in the second half but otherwise Newcastle's second string rarely threatened Thomas Kaminski's goal.

However, Newcastle fans will not mind and will be excited at the prospect of Fraser linking up again with Callum Wilson as the Magpies host Brighton in the league on Sunday.

Nobody minded on here did they?
