I wouldn't pay for that Emirates flight because the prices have gone through the roof over the last year or so; the thought of being trapped next to Gaz Beadle wannabes reduces the appeal further.  The appeal of Dubai is absolutely lost on me.

Dubai is great if acting rich is your entire personality.

Escort scene is nuts too if you’re into that kind of thing.

Most long haul prices have sky rocketed since the Pandemic as there's more demand with reduced capacity.

Out of interest what would the point of having Ryhiad Air establishing a hub here?

Can't imagine many people want to go to Saudi...

We have about 200 Saudi students at Newcastle University.

There is very high demand for flights to the North of UK from the middle east, i flew in from Bahrain connecting through Dubai and there was not a single seat empty on the flight, ithere are many people from the north working in the middle east and a very large number of people are moving to Saudi with the recent boom there, plus with Saudi opening up to tourism it falls in line with their vision to be the next top destination in the region.

And i do agree with Dubai comments, Saudi has so much more to offer and i have no doubt that if they continue this way they will become a major tourist destination.

I was actually sat next to Chantelle from Geordie Shore the last time I flew home via Dubai.

Absolutely horrendous patter. Her and her two completely over the top gay mates wouldn't shut the fuck up the entire flight.

She was flying to Thailand to film a Geordie Shore thing and was whinging they'd put her on a 4 leg, 35hour slog to Phuket while they flew Charlotte direct business class. 😂

It's well situated for international trade, especially in the east where economies will probably be booming over the next couple of decades. I would have thought the middle east as a whole is well situated in that regard, can go east or west fairly easily from there so investing in airports doesn't seem insane from that POV.

Al Ula is getting a lot of influencers to drive tourism, my GF wants to go 😅

Normally you'd think the alcohol ban would put young people off the place but a lot of them don't drink so maybe not an issue as it would have been in the past.
