We've spent fuck all and through good management, we are challenging for the top 4-5 again for the second time in two years. We don't need to spunk 100's of millions on so-called established players as long as the club/scouts/Mitchell do their jobs. I love what we are doing!

Yeah, but the Vlachodimos deal is a PSR benefit in the short term, theoretically releasing up to £100m of extra PSR headroom.

Vlachodimos is a massive PSR headache now; the Anderson and Minteh sales fell into the 23/24 season.  This season, Vlachodimos adds amortised fee plus salary.  He doesn't release 1m of headroom let alone 100m; he reduces headroom by c.6m this season.

The game really is gone, when you read it laid out like this. What insanity.

I’d like to see the value of Mitchell now. I’m suprised we haven’t done a single thing this window

I can't argue with that.  This nonsense takes up far too much thinking - the only reason it seems important to know it is so that the club's performance in signing players etc can be reasonable.  Happily, N-O is a reasonable place - but I've seen the Ronnie Gill and YouTube btl comments along the lines of 'why aren't we signing players?', 'where's the ambition?' etc - when the club is hemmed in by the daft PSR rules.  To me, we can argue about whether or not the club has made best use of the available spend (and I think they've done an excellent job to date - we've had very few 'misses' in our signings), but I've seen plenty slagging the club for things outside its control.

PSR is over three seasons, so we benefit from the Anderson, Minteh and ASM sales in the PSR calculation until 25/26. For the purposes of PSR we made a profit of around £20m in 23/24 and that stays part of the calculation until 25/26.

isn’t this all irrelevant now and amortisation + wages must be 70% of total revenue for the year?

No, the squad cost rules will (probably) be in addition to the current PSR rules rather than replacing them.

Also, if they align with the UEFA squad cost rules, profit on player sales over the past three years are added to revenue.

Football management games must be fun now too.

Cant imagine a more potent wake up call that your looking at sprites, letters and numbers, slipping into nerdom and wasting your life than this PSR guff.

Champ man / football manager was always as much an accountancy simulator as anything - the more 'realistic' it became the more I zoned out.  Haven't played it for years

Yep, agreed. The problem is this is football now, and it will be until PSR-type measures are removed.

In the mean time, it will touch everything in the game and not bothering your mind with it is like not bothering with the offside rule. You just end up getting angry at your striker for not positioning himself 30 yards upfield in all that open space...

Getting  Nuno was a masterstroke. Always a v. good manager.

He didn't get a fair chance at Spurs. He was sacked in November. He wasn't backed in any way. Probably a bad fit for him while Forest is a perfect fit.

His time at Spurs was bizarre. PL manager of the month for august (his first month in charge), and then sacked exactly 2 months later.

Who would you like him to sell?

I'm not surprised at all, I said this would happen right after the summer window as we don't like to do deals in january anyways with the tight FFP situation. As usual that opinion really upset some people, as they expected us to go on a spending spree after missing out on Guehi.
