Isn’t he saying that even if the club is sold to PIF Ashley still wants paying damages from the PL ?

Yeah, saying it's just the amount of loss that's in question, depending on what happens eventually. Of course he has to say that, because otherwise it would play into the PL's point that this isn't the right forum and/or it should be postponed until after the arbitration.

Yeah pretty much. It's kinda vital that he argues that too tbh

Doesn’t it depend on how much he (or the company known as St James’s) sells the club for. If it’s less than what it would have been if it had passed straight away then he may be entitled to damages for the difference.

So obvious even before that comment he only wanted to sell to PIF as long they are still willing to buy, because it'll make him more money long term with the contacts etc in the middle east.

Willing seller*, but with terms and conditions attached.

Exactly, it's always been about selling to the Middle East. Others might as well not bother. That's why we're here, it's always been why we're here.

Doesn't have to be Sports Direct.  Ashley is heavily invested in real estate etc now.

He can buy property in Saudi Arabia with a valid business visa and local commercial partner (which he already has). Unless you’re suggesting the government of KSA will partner up with Mike Ashley in some capacity or facilitate something for him? Just don’t see it personally.

If nothing comes from this, at least we now know exactly why it wasn't passed and why it is going to arbitration. Also that PIF are still there too.

Credible offers means buyers willing to pay the asking price.

Isn't the point of them mentioning the importance of analysing the market that they may be credible now for Xm, which is what the club is currently worth,  but actually that's less than the PIF agreed 340m?

Edit - I'm only going off tweets etc so may have lost context
