I’ve just got an awful suspicion he’s already put his name forward. Hope I’m wrong though. :howe:

Prime example of Newcastle fans being emotionally damaged individuals right there.

Don’t let the media mind fuck you over this, after last night Howe to England was free clicks.

Have England ever poached a top manager while he was having a successful career at a PL (or any top) club? Like we say every time, it’s not a job for those managers.

Hoddle from Chelsea? From memory he was doing a decent job as it was pre-Abramovich.

Under normal circumstances it's hard to see a young manager of a good PL team wanting to leave to manage England.

But if Howe thinks he's likely to be sacked this season or in the summer, then it makes sense for him to get in front of it and take the England job now.  Then he'd have a guaranteed job through the summer of 2026 and unless 2026 is a disaster, likely the summer of 2028 at which point he can see what's available.  If he stays at Newcastle and does get sacked, it may be hard to find something comparable.

But in any case I think the fee the PIF would want for Howe would be too high for the FA anyway.

I really need to stop coming in here.

I haven’t been looking at this side of the forum all week. Hard to come over and see stuff like the above.

Usually happens to the majority of managers at any club.

Yep, it's not a top job at all, it's the cast offs and past it types that get the England job . As if people actually think Eddie would take the England job or even worse some think Pep would [emoji38]

Not sure where to start but you talk complete nonsense.

I think people don't give enough respect to how precarious a manager's career is. Particularly if they've not made a lot of money in their playing career.

Well Tuchel might be and he's won a lot more than Eddie so.... 🤷🏼‍♂️

And the one question mark hanging over Pep’s head is he’s only ever managed great teams.

If he took a team that hasn’t won anything since The Monkeys and Star Trek made there debuts on TV, that would cement his legacy as a manager.

Here's my prediction. Pep joins us when the shit hits the fan at City.

Less to do with Eddie's record here, more that Pep would guarantee titles.

There's a small snag in that our squad is nowhere near a league winning side + we still don't have the resource to do it (yet).

Pep hasn't managed in Italy yet.

Not for me. A home tournament is a once in a lifetime chance, and any English manager will be all over it.

Just for our situation, it’s England needing to pay the compensation. Even if Howe wanted it, walked out, took it a few weeks later, we’d be taking England to court to pay and it be messy. Or England pay up, which they don’t seem willing to these days.

Think we’re safe, as if England wanted Howe, they would’ve got him already.
