Alan Pardew Posted Saturday at 16:03 Share Posted Saturday at 16:03 Great manager. 4th in the league and one leg in another cup final already. Glass of red wine for me now. See ya later.

Geordie Ahmed Posted Saturday at 16:04 Share Posted Saturday at 16:04 Tactically he got done today but there isn't a manager in the world that doesn't have such days Anyone losing their shit over this performance/result needs to give their head a wobble and gain some damn perspective Take yourself back to post match Brentford, if anyone offered you 9 wins and 1 loss from the next 10 would you have taken it? If so, then calm yourself down and look at the bigger picture If results don't go our way we will drop as low as 6th? Combined with being in the 4th round as well as well placed in the League Cup semi final, it's a pretty damn good season, hopefully this is just a blip and we can go on a decent run again but I have every confidence that Howe will be doing absolutely everything to make sure this is just a blip and not the start of a bad run of form

The Prophet Posted Saturday at 16:07 Share Posted Saturday at 16:07 Not seen much of an overreaction, to be be fair. It's a poor day at he office that we need to write off and move on from. We've got one foot in the league cup final and still have a good opportunity to qualify for the Champions League. As long as it doesn't become a run of form we'll be fine. Yup, comms I had mentioned Botman's groin or hammy had tightened or something and Schar's nose was as red as a stoplight. Too bad Krafth is still out and Eddie has no faith in Kelly it would seem. I'm fine with that rule tbh, it puts off players feigning injury even more tbh.
Kid Icarus Posted Saturday at 16:21 Share Posted Saturday at 16:21 You couldn't come up with a better scenario than today to test the flimsiness of our fan's resolve and tbf, with one notable exception , it seems like no one's really losing their shit. Why would we? Still in two cups, still in the Champions League chase. Plenty to play for and a decent wake up call to ensure they stay focus and Execs see the need for strength in depth with our limited reserves. Displayname Posted Saturday at 16:23 Share Posted Saturday at 16:23 Not sure if there was much he could have done different tactically today which would have given us a footing in todays match. Neverending sloppy individual mistakes from players who looked out of energy. No idea where Bournemouth got theirs from after this schedule.
clintdempsey Posted Saturday at 16:24 Share Posted Saturday at 16:24 We were terrible. And they were good. Nothing more to it than that. It's one game. If we look like this for the next 3-4 games I'd start to worry a bit - not in a "Change the manager/We're on a hiding to nothing/We're going backwards"-way mind. Nine Posted Saturday at 16:24 Share Posted Saturday at 16:24 (edited) Seen a lot of people saying we lost the game tactically today and I disagree. We just got comfortably beaten by a better performance than our own. It’s pretty ironic how we got blown away by a side that heavily resembles the 22/23 version of ourselves, how often did we do what Bournemouth did today during that season? We all knew they would come up here and go with that ultra press, and when it’s well drilled and everyone is on it sometimes you just cannot overcome it. We did it to PSG here. They were pro active and had the physical edge from minute 1, we saw signs of mental and physical fatigue vs Wolves and it was evident today as well. We do tend to struggle against a good press, I was excited to see how the inclusion of Tonali might change that but today it made little difference.. seeing Bruno struggle and get caught highlights the fact that he does lack the physical/athletic attributes in that 8 position against a good press. They exploited it well. Fair play to Bournemouth, not sure I’ve seen a better away performance here for some time. My only criticism of the set up/system is starting Botman on the wrong side, but then Schar comes on and drops a clanger One of them days. Getting beat like this isn’t always bad, gives us a chance to reset and gives plenty for Howe to work with. Onto the next. Appreciate it's the same for most home teams but 2-1 down at 2.10pm on a Saturday afternoon and people started streaming out. Whete tf are they going?
