We absolutely have too, the squad just isn’t big enough to cope. Whatever happens I’m certain we’ll have at least another 3 or 4 in.

Unless there are outgoings, or we buy players that are under 21, we only have two senior squad places left to fill.

We have two bare minimum - longstaff and Wilson replacement, imo we need another CB on top of that.  Edit, I see what you were saying, my bad

Current over 21 squad players, I assume Ashby and White will go on loan or not be included, that leaves us two spaces for the 25 man squad without additional outgoings.

Is absolutely no chance we don't sign at least a couple more players mind , it would be gross incompetence to go into the season with this current squad .

Our recruitment team probably are pretty incompetent these days, so it seems there’s a chance.

Do we need 5 keepers ?

Do we know why Mitchell left? It does seem off, that both sporting directors jacked it in so quickly. I know Jonny gardens was tempted away but were they both left frustrated by the (alleged) slow pace of the Saudis signing things off?

Let’s be honest though - unless we’re gonna play 4 keepers across the back we can swap some around, Targett won’t be missed either if we went on a buying splurge and couldn’t sell.

Surely Vlach will go out on loan?

5 of those are very unlikely to be registered, so there is plenty of space. And seemingly enough money.

Big teams can even negotiate signings when the first team are playing...

That's the problem when your manager is the trying his best as a club one man band.

For all we know Sunday's could be his day to do the veg and roast for the family, so thats two days lost.

Hopefully one of our 3 strong transfer committee can step up this week and find someone that is new for the list.

I back Howe to develop lesser known foreign players better than any manager in the league.

Thats the head-scratching bit - Howe has proven again and again and again that there might not be anyone in the game better at improving players and extracting the maximum from them.  We don’t need world beaters, we need a solid squad dusted with top talent and he’ll have us competing.

Good God. I was wondering what the hell was going on just having all these unusable goalies, but we're actually registering them? Mental. That is a shocking 25. Nowhere near good enough if the league is slightly better this year. Even if it was the same quality, which won't be, we've got Champions League. Executive mismanagement has really shagged us here. Instead of youth that could break thru or at least step in, we've got 5/25 goalies, none of whom would get picked for a 'big 6' club, then another 6 players who wouldn't get anywhere near playing for a top 10 club, Willock because he'd never be fit. Ridiculous neglect.

Yeah feels like alot of the off field shit has held us back and dampened some of that early unstoppable force feeling we had post takeover. Last summer was a shit show and it's a damn miracle Howe was able to galvanise the squad and get us back into CL, let alone finally winning us that elusive trophy.

Felt like he would be rewarded for some tough transfer dry spells with some much needed squad refresh his summer.

And with a whole year for Mitchell to get his feet under the desk and to plan. I thought we were all set to smash out some deals early and even nab some bargains.

But no. It appears Mitchell did the sum total of fuck all and worse than that, I guess robbed us of someone else being in place to do some planning and basically sabotaged us.

So now here we are, relying on the same target list as last summer. Only this time the cartel clubs are snapping up all the players we wanted because they have unlimited funds in comparison to us from a PSR perspective.

If we don't have a plan B and a back up list of secondary targets to atleast add some extra bodies, I fear it would take an even bigger miracle than last year just to keep us in the hunt at the top of the table. Would be such a shame to waste the momentum we should have had going into this year.

I feel like we should be very attractive to players, Liverpool and Man City can't sign everyone.

We can't possibly just have had 2 forwards and 1 keeper on our shortlist, so let's hope the rest are in the works.

TBH losing Isak is all I can think about anyway.
