I presume someone like Brad Miller will be picking up bits of work but seems that Jamie Reuben is doing some of the work too as been negotiating on transfers
toon25
Absolutely love this man. If there was anyone deserving of a good club set up and success, it's this man. Utterly committed, utterly devoted, and hugely talented
Keggy_Keagal
We'll be just fine. The best signing PIF have made was this fella. The way he's handled all this has been superb. I think as others have said though Howe's done with him here and I've a feeling either post the Liverpool game or when we've signed two strikers he's definitely off. Yorkie
Says outright in his press conference today that our transfer failings aren't because of the lack of CEO/SD, but because of finances. If it wasn't true, he'd be out the door imo. Why would he stick around if he's surrounded by a clownshow? He knows it's PSR that's done this. Also, fantastic question from Caulkin and a fantastic answer in response.

In 2 weeks time it'll be ridiculous and he just needs to stay as calm as possible and give the press as little as possible. Sign the players we can at prices we can afford and rule Isak out of the equation for the foreseeable, and that takes all the pressure off. He needs to continue to make this an Isak/Liverpool problem, not a Newcastle one

The argument has been done to death this summer so not going to bring it back up. Of course PSR is a factor, but if you genuinely don’t think the lack of a CEO and sporting director (a competent one) has impacted our window then fair enough. I would strongly disagree with you but let’s leave it at that.
Shadow Puppets
I genuinely don’t understand some posters’ attitudes, like. You know who you are. For anyone capable of logical, and emotionless thinking, it’s absolutely plain to see that… 1) our PSR situation is in a better place currently. 2) we attempted to be ambitious with the players we went after, knowing that we could afford them in theory (under normal market conditions etc)… but… 3) when certain other teams entered the fray our chances dwindled when we were blown out of the water on wages. It’s not a “bad strategy” to go after sought-after players and hope you can get deals done within the wage structure we have, especially if we have been given solid encouragement that deals were there to be done. And it’s not “bad strategy” just because in a handful of cases some bigger clubs have joined those races and beat us to them. Hindsight, sure, but ambition is good. And now certain posters are STILL complaining when we switch tactic and work our way down to the next tier of targets. Eddie Howe is the single most important person associated with this football club in the last 20 years. If you can’t trust that he knows what he’s doing, or that he and his staff are working to the absolute best of their ability for the benefit of this club, then I don’t know what to say. And to a similar degree the same applies to the owners. A lot has changed since they came in. I agree they could vastly improve communication and it’s important to get a CEO and DOF in place, but if Eddie says it hasn’t affected our summer, then I’d be inclined to just believe him and let them crack on. As tends to happen in a difficult moment, this place can become really really toxic, vastly over reactive, and lose all sense of the bigger picture. It’s all the more evident when you actually go to a game and interact with humans… Ive been to both games this weekend, spoken to dozens of people, both fans and people working in the club, and there is frustration, but understanding of the situation, and belief that we can still end the window with what we need. In the real world, outside of internet forums and Twitter shit, there is always a far more level headed reaction. I don’t see why we can’t allow them to just get on with it and see how the pieces fall come the start of September.

I found this last night. 3 of us who'd previously not spoken about the summer or anything were all in agreement that we'd spend 70 or 80million still and get the signings we needed and if we did this with Isak still here we'd be looking very strong. Get Isak performing and Wissa in, perhaps even a squad player for CM and we've had a pretty good window I'd say. Stood up to the English champions and bolstered our squad.
