This is a transition season it happens. In the long-term we'll be better off for it. Our squad is miles ahead of a few years ago. In Eddie we trust.

I do think people need to wrap their head around the fact that bad seasons can happen. It’s sport.

Where have I said this time get rid? He has to do better than the poor showing displayed so far though. Of course you were one of the few who thought Elanga was worth his fee. Learn the meaning of Deja Vu before quoting people

still early to write Elanga off. Not saying that you are . Agreed that he isn't worth 55 million yet though.  But I feel that you've been pretty positive for a number of months now.

Starting to think Eddie's a one trick pony. We have 38 different games but he'll play the same game 38 times.

How many mediocre to easy passes go astray? Their 'penalty' a direct result of a piss easy pass going astray.

This team is harder to get out of than it is to get in.

Perhaps away from home he needs to choose his best wide player (Murphy) and get a grip of midfield. Shit like West Ham just walked right through us.

The 2nd half was a complete shambles. I haven't a clue what he was trying to do but playing our best player out of position at RB was simply bizarre.

He has to find a solution to our terrible away form and he has to it quickly. It's not just the results that have been bad. The performances have also been terrible. It's not like we've been unlucky.

Yeah moving him to RB was just desperate measures! Bizarre day. Hopefully never to be repeated!

We’re not transitioning though. We still have predictable / limited wingers who come inside or cross and hit the first man, a midfield that goes missing and doesn’t create / score, Dan effing Burn at LB, Pope’s limitations, paint by numbers subs and no plan B when intensity is our identity falls flat. There are positives but we’ve been treading water for a while now with the complete lack of new ideas to impose our game on the opposition instead of doubling down on the Poundshop Klopp doctrine.

That’s a sad reflection on him, it shows that he had no idea how to change it and just made changes for the sake of doing so.

I think entirely the opposite. He reacted and you could tell by the change in formation and personnel that the performance improved the second half. Howe did nowt wrong here. The players, especially the first half, were a disgrace (looking at you Gordon). Joelinton decided to join in after 40 minutes, Bruno did every pass wrong, normally giving to the opposition, Woltemade non existence but not his fault, Botman was hopeless that no one has picked up on, Burn is not a left back but I still love him and finally Nick Pope who I idolise has a brain fart for the first goal.

In conclusion, that performance was not on Howe.

Transition I agree. Squad better I agree (on paper).

But when you are still playing the same 3 CMs with the same issues, then it's not a transition so far, and is the squad better when said 3 is still playing? Could have Longstaff still instead of Ramsey and nothing would be different.

In the short term, this is painful stuff and we really need loads of players (especially the new guys) to step up when the proper run starts after International Break. Potentially could have 24 games between November 22nd and February 14th before the players finally get a full weeks rest :D

The performance hardly was better 2nd half.

Hopefully a few squad fillers in January. LB and technical MF would be good.

Deja vu.

I couldn’t see him turning it around after Brentford away. Oh how wrong I was.

I’ve referenced it a few times on here that I was far too quick to judge. I won’t be doubting him again in a hurry.

I believe he will turn it around. He has done so many times. But our away form is really concerning, for sure.

Never thought we would have both injured already, but I actually wished for a fullback signing before the window opened. There were so many players that needed to be signed though, but I didn't feel all that comfortable with being 1 injury away from playing Trippier every game, or 2 injuries away from Burn at LB. Trippier hasn't been terrible, but not being terrible isn't exactly the depth that you want. We're so incredibly handicapped offensively when Hall and/or Tino are out. Trippier has barely done anything for us offensively this season, and despite not being the very best offensively, Tino does more to get the ball forward than the current version of Trippier.

Obviously having to play Krafth there is even worse than Trippier in terms of going forward.

I sense there is a bit of complacency in the squad which is reflective in the performances - the two full backs and Wissa (Big Nick been immense) missing really hurt us - the output in the league from Gordon and Joelinton has been non existent this season - Bruno for about half the games has been below his best

That midfield 3 needs a shake up - both in personnel and in shape - especially away from home - just try something different - don’t make it obvious to the opponent

And get back to that “over my dead body” attitude we had a few years back away from home - we are just too soft at times
