Should be banging the door down to get a left back signed. Not a chance Hall can play the majority of games between now and end of the season with zero cover.

LB should be top of the list in January. Anything after that is a bonus IMO. But we need a LB desperately and I'm sure the powers that he knows this. Howe clearly does.

Yet it really has to be someone who is happy to be backup to Hall.

"I felt pretty comfortable through that second half without, you know, thinking we were playing our very best football".

Come on man.

He's not realistically gonna come out and say we were shiteing ourselves is he though too.

No, but you can tell by the tone of his voice he genuinely believes it.

Sounds like he's trying to be convincing to his fellow colleagues and team and all of the supporters that have to believe in him to me.

I think he’s trying to positive as he said a couple of times there. That’s all.

Yeah interesting. I feel like he's pulled the curtain back a wee bit in recent times (relatively speaking, as he always keeps his cards so close to his chest). Maybe it's a symptom of being under more pressure than he ever has been whilst in the job.

Not that he wasn't composed. Just the insight into why he didn't make any changes (the stuff about character building) isn't necessarily what I'd expect him to usually share.

His tone seems like he's acknowledging we are a bit shit but doesn't really know what to do to change that so just wants to enjoy the win.

Which is normal, most premier league managers seem the same at the moment, it's a really bizarre season.

Look at the Chelsea manager, spent like half a billion and they are pretty dull.

I just hope Eddie can come up with something. He must know deep down something is seriously wrong.

Think it was more that he was buzzing with the win but the second question from the in-house media guy was "why were we rubbish" and he understandably couldn't be fucking arsed with that. I don't think he actually believes he's clueless.

He says towards the end that it's "all about our evolution as a team." He sees a team that's changing, not one that's 'a bit shit.'

Can you? I got a different vibe from him when saying that part

Overall I thought his interview was fair and accurate

Big 3 points for us, I think it was pretty unanimous tonight was about getting the 3 points any which way so it's a bit weird some people are still being absolute doom merchants

Eddie’s a bullshitter at the best of times, there’s no way he felt comfortable where Burnley missed chance after chance for basically the last 40min of the match . Massive couple of matches coming up, big improvement needed

Did you watch the match?

I felt exactly like Eddie said, pretty comfortable even during that tougher 10-15 minute spell in the second half. They really didn't create that many really good chances, don't remember any in the last 20 minutes while WE WERE SHITTING OURSELVES hanging on to a lead.

Tend to agree. Didn’t like how much ball we gave them but the main reason I was nervous is the number of points we’ve lost late in games recently.

With the season we've had so far, the fact we are four points off 5th spot is remarkable. Howe can count himself quite lucky with this, any other season and we'd most likely be adrift in midtable and 9/10 points off UCL places.
