What was your diet leading up to it?

Getting players back, sitting two points off fifth and still fighting on four fronts. If we can get at least one signing of note in this could still turn out to be yet another class season.

Signs it's starting to click a bit and we're largely now picking up the points we should be picking up. Thought Murphy was horrendous and that hindered the whole team. Virtually every move down the right broke down when he got involved and that meant we had to favour the left. They realised this and shuffled across quickly and it was all a bit clunky tbh.

But it's another win and we're creeping back up there and also have a few favourable few fixtures to come too, we need to keep it going though as the league is still so tight, any slips now mean we fall back another 5 places. Need to keep the foot firmly planted down, no let up now

Back to back wins are huge, thought we grew into that nicely today.

The main issue staring us in the face is the midfield not able to keep the ball or string passes together - I'm hoping he retains Miley in the side when Tino is back and sits Sandro down for a bit as he's just not right at the min.

Classic Murphy because he was also key to the first goal, stole the ball high up the field and then involved in the move that eventually scored about three times before it eventually went in.

Pretty ugly goal mind you, but you can't discount Murphy's contribution to it.

Even though we've not been great we should have several more points than we do on balance of play, which would have us right where we'd have taken. Albeit in a woeful league.

Which team at the moment shouldn't? Liverpool up and down like a perverts arsehole, Everton also smashed off us a few weeks ago then Brentford today, man city dropping points against Sunderland who themselves although not getting beat are drawing. Leeds getting a draw against man u today after leading. It's a strange tight season with everyone dropping silly points.

Yeah, but the table is way more fun if we only play what if with our games.

I do think we have a lot of what ifs to be fair.

Things are looking up. Back to back wins, defenders coming back to fitness, and we are still in touching distance of the top 5. If we can get players like Ramsey and Elanga to pitch in over the next month it will really help us push on. Loads of games so we need to be able to rotate with confidence.

If you could have any Ashley-era signing for Howe’s team today, who would it be and why?

The player would join us at the same age and profile they were when they signed under Ashley.

Not sure Howe would want him, but Ben Arfa would be tasty against the low block.
